Manichitrathazhu is one of the best movies i have seen in Malayalam 😛 I love nagavalli, ofcourse oru murayi vanthu and vidamatte dialogue. Its one movie i can watch over and over again.

@burcidi ,geethu07 : yes ,geethanjali , i heard that it was its sequel ,but jst checkd wikipedia ,there it says its not ! But mohanlal is playing d same character f dr sunny , and few manichitrataazhu cast also will b there with d same character . And shobana s playing a cameo role

Geethanjali (Malayalam: ) is an upcoming Malayalam psychological thriller film written byDennis Joseph and directing by Priyadarshan. Mohanlal will play the lead role in this film. He is playing the character Dr. Sunny (the character he acted in 1993 blockbuster Manichitrathazhu) even though this film is not a sequel of Manichitrathazhu.^[1] Along with Mohanlal, Innocent & Ganesh Kumar will be reprising their characters, Unnithan & Dasappan, from Manichitrathazhu. Priyadarshan has already worked as one of the second-unit directors, along with Siddique-Lal and Sibi Malayil in Manichitrathazhu. The film is produced by G. P. Vijayakumar under the banner Seven Arts International. The music department is handled byVidyasagar and Prof. O. N. V. Kurup. Lalgudi N. Ilayaraja, who won the National Film Award for Best Production Design in 2012 is handling the art department.^[2]

It's surely one of the best I've watched. Shobana was phenomenal and Mohanlal of course was best.

A second part will be a tall feat. To match up to the fame of Manichithratazh is a tough deal. Wishing the makers all the best.

Definitely one of the best. Shobana totally rocked it. Her expressions just can't be described. Mohanlal and Suresh Gopi were also good but then the movie was not about them and so I was willing to put up with Suresh's usual blank face and some overacting by Mohanlal. It is when Mohanlal went into the detective mode that he was awesome.

Of course like in most south indian movies there are characters and side plots that make no contribution to the movie and that guy with hydrophobia was one such.

In my view, none of the remakes came close to the original. The two highlights from this movie for me have been

1. The scene when Ganga's hidden personality comes out. The way she gets angry and breaks the bed and the very next moment her whole face, body language and personality changes when she reverts to her normal self

2. The song in the climax. It was so powerful and Shobana's dance and expressions were so much in sync with the song, that when I first saw it, I was scared

I think one reason why this movie worked for me was that Nagavalli was Tamilian and the contrast in language between the sing-song malayalam and the more commanding tamil language added to the theme and could also be a reason why I loved 'oru murayil vanthu ..'

Manichitrathazhu is one of my fav Malayalam movie...
Shobhana is such a talented and beautiful artist...
She is my fav actress...
PS:Loudspeaker is my favorite movie...😃
