Are Sridevi and Madhuri really Equals??

I understand that they were once top actress at the same point of time...but even now I see them being pitched against each other in terms of everything...

But are they really equals??

By the time Madhuri did Tezaab...Sri already had Sadma...Mr. India...and countless commercials...

When Madhuri was doing Parinda and Kishan Kanhayya...Sridevi was doing Lamhe and Chalbaaz and along with commercials...

When Madhuri was doing beta...sri is doing Khuda Gawah

when Madhuri was doing Hum Aapke...Sridevi was pretty much at the end of her 40 yr run in Films...even then later we Had Judaai...

And It is almost criminal that I have not included any of Sri's souther works..which were awesome or even better than the hindi ones...

Even the roles she potrayed are vastly different...over Madhuri who is fine actress herself..while she did different types of movies...personally her roles not as Drastic as Sri..

sri went from playing a mentally retarded(Sadma ) To dancing in "Naino me Sapna" to Chaplin Scenes in Mr.India to drastic characters in Chalbaaz to Snake infested women in Naagin to Lamhe to Money greeedy in Judaai...to Khuda Gawah...

I will be fair to Madhuri and not mention Sridevi's South exploits...Even their comebacks for me show vast difference in class !!!

Personally if you ask me..Sridevi is a Legend...Madhuri is a good actress !!!

Opinions on this !!!!...Do you rate Madhuri aside Sridevi in terms of movies they did..acting they did..and roles they did !!!

Can't really choose between them 😊 .. But yes, if acting is considered, and also quality of work, it's SD for me 😃

Sridevi is way ahead of Madhuri in terms of work and variety roles she has done.

So yes Sridevi is ahead also in terms of stardom as she was compared with Amitabh Bachan. The only heroine to be compared with him.

Madhuri comes in second.

Madhuri is a distant second to Sridevi. Her body of work is so good even in the 80s when roles for women were scarce. She has an enviable body of work. Madhuri reminds me of today's Kareena. Both are talented but their filmography is really lacking and make them easier to forget over time. There are very few films to be proud of and a lot of movies that aged really badly and don't stand the test of time. Even Sridevi's comeback was drastically better than Madhuri's.

At least Madhuri could dance, which is primarily what she's remembered for.

Madhuri is a Phenominal dancer...One of the few heroines who stood toe to Toe with Prabhu deva in his career in Key Sera Sera from Pukar

Having said that Sri is an amazing dancer herself...And I donno how to explain this...she has that amazing ease with which does that makes a difficult step look poetic...and she is classical indian dancer as well...

Madhuri for me wins here...but by a very slight margin and can actually be debatable...

Honestly, you just need to look at their filmography and can easily conclude Sridevi is way ahead. MD is drop dead gorgeous and i firmly believe there is noone who can beat her in terms of looks or grace. But in terms of acting credentials, Sridevi is several notches higher. She has brilliant comic timing and does emotional scenes with equal elan.She does have the tendacy to go OTT at times but when she gives a restrained performance, she pawns everyone else in comparison.Her performance in some of her South movies is nothing short of brilliant. Regarding popular songs, kate nahi katte and naino me sapna are right up there with ek do teen and dhak dhak. And regarding her comeback, i firmly believe it was the best performance of 2012..its a shame she hasn't got enough recognition.

Well i always found Sridevi a better actress than Madhuri.when it comes to dance it is difficult to say who is the better but i will go with Madhuri cuz she can do it all Indian,western,dance moves.

I am from AP myself...so I am highly familiar with her Southern movies...but just decided not post them to have a level play ground with madhuri...

if I include her Southern movie..Sri is for me the biggest Indian star...she was biggets heroine ever in all the languages she did...Telugu/Tamil and hindi...and by a distance...I cant even go listing the brilliant stuff she did in South ...from Padaharella Vayassu has a 16 yr old in late 70'sto Ram Gopal Varma's Kshnakshanam in early 90's to Akali Rajyam to Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari to couple of dozen films she did with Kamal Hassan in Tamil...It is beyond Legendary !!!!
