PepsiCo ropes in Hrithik Roshan as brand ambassador for Mountain Dew

New Delhi: Beverages and snacks major PepsiCo India on Friday said it has roped in Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan as its new brand ambassador for its soft drink 'Mountain Dew'.

"We are proud to associate with Hrithik Roshan, who truly reflects the daring, bold and fearless persona of the brand and its consumers," PepsiCo India Category Director-Flavours, Ruchira Jaitly said in a statement.

She added that the company is looking forward to a blockbuster summer and is confident that this partnership will be mutually rewarding.

"I love pushing myself to the extreme and the brand's belief in this similar viewpoint proved to be an ultimate fit which I couldn't resist," Roshan said.

Mountain Dew, which is considered one of the country's fastest growing brands in the carbonated soft drink space, crossed Rs 1,000 crore sales mark in 2011.

The company had earlier appointed Bollywood actor Salman Khan as the brand ambassador for the brand in 2011 for a one year period.

In 2012, the company did not appoint anyone as the brand ambassador.

According to industry sources, Roshan has been roped in as the brand ambassador for the brand to further enhance its visibility across the country.

I'm sure coke was also an ultimate fit when he was their brand ambassador!! I don't like it when stars jump from a brand to it's rival-coz it shows they didn't believe in the former product!! so the star loses credibility!

Even if it's a job, it's not one done very well! He's telling the consumers to manofy jashn one day and then tells them to stop celebrating coz darr ke aage jeet hai!!

What makes it worse is that he was extremely upset with pepsi a few years back!! This is his dad's IV!

Roshan retaliates: ''I don't think I am over-reacting. I am upset that Pepsi chose to do something like this. And we suspect the reason they did this was because Hrithik decided to endorse Coke over Pepsi though both the companies approached him. We are yet to decide whether we should sue or not.''

So job or marriage-the choices made do reflect a lot!!

I wasn't referring to whether or not they are permanent. The way you reacted to Hrithik going from one product to another made me think of people criticizing celebs when they dump one marriage/relationship and move to another. 😆
