Thanks for sharing. Her name is apt-Jyoti.
I wish the stigma related to sexual assualts would go away. And parents/victims dont shy away from taking action against the prepetrators. But its up to the society to make them comfortable enough to do so like it happenned in Jyoti's case. The good thing is after this incidents many victims(including those who have suffered for a long time) have come forward to take help of the law.

The interview is heartbreaking. I seriously wish that no human should go through what the girl and the guy went through that horrific night. And the hospital didn't even attend to the guy and offer him some clothes? The people who passed by seeing the naked bodies on the road and the people who didn't even bother giving them clothes in the hospital are as inhuman as those rapists.

I agree but would have liked her identity to be kept confidential as per the law. Despite all this talk about fast track justices, no concrete action has been taken as of yet.

cant help getting concerned; what if the justice keeps getting delayed. what would happen to the family/families when the public interest dies eventually?

Another disturbing thing--the guy who was apparently most brutal with Jyoti, passed the lewd comments is a minor, only 17, so he'll be tried in juvenile court which has a max punishment of THREE YEARS.

W*F. It's time we look at the crime rather than the age of the perpetrator, at least in cases such as this...otherwise what sort of message do they send out? Guys hurry up and do all the raping, crimes before 18...and then go on and live a happy life? W*FF!

But the law says the victim or the family (if victim is no more) can give permission to publish the name.

I'm glad that the family released the name. For a variety of reasons. Of course if they hadn't that would've been fine too. But as they said, her name deserved to be known, I agree. Add to that the Indian Media were acting idiotic and stupid by calling her all kinds of different names.

And now, the case against Zee seems even more idiotic than before.

Exactly ! But in his case, it could be a matter of months since he only has to be kept in juvenile correctional facility until he turns 18.

Word. The law should be amended so that no matter how juvenile the rapist is, he should be punished along with the rest of the accused. When will the trail even start?
