Thanks JuggyE. How did I forget this? I saw Sur Sangam in theater in very fisrt week and I remember I had appreciated all those beautiful classical based songs -- Also I had been to a few live concerts of the Rajan Saajan Mishra here in US.

Ust Amir Khan was also the voice behind the alaap in "Madhuban mein radhika naache re" from Kohinoor...

Hmm are you sure about Ustad Amir Khan singing in "madhuban mein radhika naache". Someone said that actor Govinda's mother, a classical singer sang that part and then I got confused whether it was a male or female voice.

Yes Punjini ji, I'm 95% sure that its Ust Amir Khan. I too remember a thread (back when Abhi/Niraj used to initiate these kind of posts) that Nirmala Devi (Govinda's mom) had sung the alaap. I have a couple of her songs and its definitely not her...

It is Niaz Ahmed Khan (not Amir Khan). this is sometng many dnt knw and HMV does nt even acknowledge it. chk the rmim archives and yu;ll get the info.

Thanks Barnali ji for the info. For some reason, I've always thought that it was Ust Amir Khan. I should have thought of checking RMIM, SKS, HF before posting...
