Loved, loved, loved it, Fari🤗 !! You are a magician with words...👏 You left me totally stunned with this update! Yash is over with Arpita? And she is getting married? That was quick! That leaves the pathway clear for AarYa love to bloom... Again, I must say I love the Aarti you have brought to life here... But Yash's character is also intriguing me now... The lie he told Aarti was just blurted out without much thought. And now I feel, this will frustrate Yash because obviously Aarti is not the kind to be longing for his love. She had some pride still intact... So she has no expectations from him now, isn't it? She is already willing to play the charade of being his wife to not cause any pain to any of her loved ones or her sasural. So that leaves Yash with a high possibility of getting attracted to her without him knowing it or realising it soon. He has already (finally) notice that his wife is striking in looks and is sort of captivated by her personality and her shocking stance on his equally shocking revelation. So I can already see sparks flying between them. 😳

Now that Yash is over with his past and Aarti is a clean slate, I am looking forward to more beautiful moments between them.
I just love this phase when the couple will be trying to discover each other, their likes, dislikes, get an insight into each other's minds and gradually come to respect each other (just like this current phase of AarYa). It will be interesting to see how Yash wins over Aarti here. I am also waiting to see how the truth of Yash's relationship status comes in front of Aarti at a later stage, because if Yash tells her now, she is not gonna believe her... It would be silly, isn't it? At night, you say you are in love with someone else and in the morning you say you are over with that girl. So that would really confuse Aarti. I am hoping you'll bring this out at the appropriate moment... may be when Aarti and Yash will be gradually accepting each other as their respective spouse. Aarti, though shocked then, would at least believe him. 😉

I am really excited for your next update...
This story of yours is keeping me on tenterhooks. I am always on the lookout for your updates... 😳

P.S. Forgive me for the late comment, cuz I was out of town. But still I came before the 7th chapter... 😆

Chapter 7

The silence within the room was undisturbed but for the birds chirping outside the windows, marking the start of the new day, marking a new beginning.

The couple within the room was so engrossed within their silence, that the chirps of birds were left unnoticed.

With his untrained fingers trying to undo the naughty deed of Aarti's friends, Yash tried, unsuccessfully, to unpin Aarti's dupatta from her blouse. The safety pins were intricately woven to the layers of material making it close to impossible for him to pull the pieces apart. How do girls do this on a daily basis, and live to do it again the next day was beyond him.

Aarti has expected YashJi to come to her rescue, pull her pins apart and let her finally breath an unconstraint breath. Had she known she would be subject to his fingers all over her back - grazing, touching, holding, steadying - she would have ripped the offending dupatta off her body many hours ago. How she exercised her restraint, and remained straight-spined throughout the ordeal was a secret only she knew the answer to.

The struggle, and the silence, that could very well have lasted half an hour, finally came to an end when Yash finally pulled a safety pin apart. Just one pin, but his reaction was as if he had moved mountains. As he put the pin away, a smile lingers on the edge of his lips. Giving away to his release, he burst out laughing, jolting his bride into a surprise.

Realizing his folly, Yash went on to justify his actions.

"It was a good thing then -" was all he offered as an explanation.

Willing to bait in order to keep her physical reactions at bay, Aarti indulged in a conversation, "what do you mean?"

Raising his eyebrows in mischief, Yash explained, "Well, that it was a good idea our night shaped the way it did. Had I had to do this on the marriage-bed, not only would the mood have dampened, but our frustration levels would have soared."

Incredible he thought! Just as his words slipping his mouth, a deep blush coloured his wife's face, warming her all over - as his fingers on her back, still continuing to unravel her, would attest. He could not remember the last time he had witnessed a girl not in her teens that blushed. Although he was caught unawares, he realized that her blush had charmed him, and he hoped he could see her blush again, very soon.

When he finally pulled the last pin, Aarti excused herself and went straight to the bathroom to change. In the solitude of his room, Yash once again thought about his situation. Even though he did not agree with his parents methods - especially their tactics of emotional blackmail, he could not say, very honestly, that he did not approve of their choice of Aarti. Although too soon to say anything, he knew, by sheer institution, that she had the trimmings of being the ideal wife. Had his parents wished him to be married off, they could have chosen any girl, considering many girls fell over themselves in vying to get the attention of the Schindias, but he was pleased with their choice. She did not appear superficial, for despite their limited time in being in each other's company, she had proven herself countless times: she did not yell, scream of cry for answers, was levelheaded, and best of all, was an innocent. Her blush, if he could assume correctly, would one day be his undoing.

While Yash was getting accustomed to his bride's ways, she was having very different thought while locked up in the bathroom. Fully changed into a sari - one that she pinned only once, and one, which would not require any assistance in undoing - Aarti fumed. The gall of the man to make innuendos to her while having a lover stowed away someplace! A lover, he had met no less than an hour ago.

Taking deep, and calming breaths, Aarti quickly freshened herself, before deciding to leave the room. Vidhi bhabi, alongside her mother in law, had mentioned a pooja in the morning, and the faster she got out of the room - and away from YashJi - the better it would be for Aarti.

Exiting the room, Aarti quickly made way for the mandir within their home. She had always been a religious girl, and believed that god had been kind to her, despite her struggles. Once the pooja was done, and the breakfast eaten, the younger generation of Schinias had taken it upon themselves to tease the newlyweds endlessly.

"So Aarti, did you sleep well?" asked Vidhi Bhabi

"I don't know bhabi. The bags under Aarti bhabi's eyes are quite telling" chimed Paridi, Prateek's fianc.

As they laughed, Aarti lowered her eyes, lest anyone notice a distinct sadness within them. Yash, noticed however, and called himself fifty kinds of fools. He would, he decided, make it up to Aarti, and clear the misunderstanding between them as soon as he had a quiet moment between them.

Truth be told, he had expected things to get slightly better after this morning. He thought conversation would come easy after they had broken he ice while he had unpinned her. But the minute she had come out of the bathroom - freshly draped in a red sari (with a blouse that could create scandal for him as he was close to asking her if she required more help in either the tying, or the untying of it), she had made a beeline for the exit, not meeting his eye. Even during the pooja when both of them had to preform a few rituals together, she had made sure to touch the farthest tip of the pooja thaal, and had stood keeping a good distance from him. Even during breakfast, she had made sure to offer him food, politely, but refused to acknowledge his thanks, or even sit beside him, offering that spot instead to Prateek.

Hoping his siblings and sister-in-laws would leave them be, he silently prayed to have a minute alone with her. Not a second had passed when his mother offered him an opening.

"Yash!" she called, "The Dubey's will be expecting you and Aarti soon. There is a final ritual you both have to take part in. Please get ready while I ask your brothers to load the car with gifts." No sooner had his mother finished talking, that Yash bolted towards his car.

As Aarti went to their room to grab a few of her belongings, Yash patiently waited by the car.

Oh my gosh, I LOVE how this story is moving!
First of all: I updated my comments about Chapter 5 back on page 11 😊 Better late than never!
Second: There's no way I'm going to have time to write out detailed comments to Chapter 6 (I'm going to ditto everything Maham (Allbut1) said about that chapter ) but it was wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!
Yes, there was an Arpita, yes they had been in love, but no, those feelings were no longer poignant. For either party.
Upon reading the part above, I had a serious "Wait, WHAT?!?!? WHATTT?" moment. Too good to be true, but it's true - and nothing could have been more pleasing to my eyes (and my mind's eye) than this:
As he pulled the last pin from her hair, he realized - perhaps for the first true time, how striking his wife was. With that clear on his mind, he made progress with her lengha.
Moving right along to Chapter 7!
I had thought things couldn't get better than the last chapter - I should have known that you'd come out with another amazing update that is more lovely than the previous one, because that seems to be a pattern here! Fabulous job, Fari!
Had she known she would be subject to his fingers all over her back - grazing, touching, holding, steadying - she would have ripped the offending dupatta off her body many hours ago.
I couldn't hold back a laugh at this part; the way you write Yash and Aarti's thoughts, especially those little doses of humor due to your word choice, is something that I totally enjoy! Even in the previous chapter, Aarti's description of how her friends seemed to have sewn the lehenga onto her body made me smile at the way she said it. Here again, the inherent physical tension is more than apparent and her desperation to get out of this precarious situation is so well-conveyed due to the last portion of that sentence. Love the implied effect of Yash's fingers on Aarti's back - two reactions simultaneously...More like one reaction in response to the other...Aarti's going to have a hard time pulling away in the future, but I bet that's not going to stop her.
LOL! Oh man, I loveee this. One, Aarti's physical reactions wreaking havoc within her in contrast to her calm exterior; two, Yash's mischevious expression and the things he says: ahahaha, LOVE this man! Dang, let's hope this ordeal helps him next time...Then again, maybe it won't because Aarti is more beautiful than an apsara and I'm wondering if Yash's realization of that might severly hinder his coordination even more when "next time" comes.
Incredible he thought! Just as his words slipping his mouth, a deep blush coloured his wife's face, warming her all over - as his fingers on her back, still continuing to unravel her, would attest...Although he was caught unawares, he realized that her blush had charmed him, and he hoped he could see her blush again, very soon.
Oooh, I've died from the beauty of this. Love love love the vivid detail of Yash's thoughts and Aarti's body's response to him...and the fact that he feels her warm up because of the effect of his words is just...*sigh* Wow. Oh, and I am still relishing the phrase "...still continuing to unravel her..." because it's beautiful, poetic, intimate, and ironic in more ways than one! That last sentence, though: maybe next time is not so very far off, then!
The gall of the man to make innuendos to her while having a lover stowed away someplace!
Contrasts, and what a contrast in thoughts! Is Aarti a passionate woman? I wonder...She seems to have a great amount of self-control and restraint, but it does appear that her impulsive reactions are somewhat overwhelming at times, and so she calms herself and wills herself to regain her composure. I'm still trying to piece Aarti together, and honestly, this is a lot of fun!
Awww, such a realistic situation - especially since Paridhi is one of the speakers, LOL! Wouldn't put it past her to make a remark like that! Yash, perceptive as ever, is also as adorable as ever (love the "fifty kinds of fools" bit, such a hilariously adorable image of Gurmeet as Yash came to mind when I read this! Trademark reaction to Aarti. Love how your characters are distinct from yet still similar to the show's characters.) And I'm looking forward to seeing how Yash handles clearing the air. Hope it happens soon!
But the minute she had come out of the bathroom - freshly draped in a red sari (with a blouse that could create scandal for him as he was close to asking her if she required more help in either the tying, or the untying of it), she had made a beeline for the exit, not meeting his eye.
Oh, my. Yash is going to meet his end because of Aarti...and I daresay he will find his heaven in her, too, at the rate he's going! He actually was on the verge of asking her if she needed help with it? *shakes head in amusement* Oh, Yash! Couldn't stop myself from letting out a surprised little laugh at the "help tying or untying" thought that crossed his mind as soon as he saw her blouse and that sari that would NOT need to be undone, according to Aarti.
Yash literally bolting to the car...Priceless! He really wants a moment alone, doesn't he? Love it, haha! The things that Aarti has made him feel already indicate that he's going to be completely hopeless in resisting her charms - charms that are entirely due to her natural disposition and nothing else. Aah, can't wait for another update now!
