I have been thinking about how Gohem were before Holi and how they are now. Did I prefer to see their interaction before or after the fateful Holi day? I am kind of torn on this one.
I loved the sweet Gohem scenes before holi, shy intimate glances, Gopi taking care of Ahemji, Ahemji trying to make her feel comfortable around him, their support for each other, the Valentines day scenes, and Ahemji teasing. I had high expectations for them taking their relationship to the next level of love cofession and finally, the consummation. I also hoped they will confront their first year head on clearing their misunderstandings with Gopi vahu's pallu finally coming off, shed tears of regret, exchange shy smiles full of hope for a happy future and finally, bury the past never to be resurrected again. How I loved those days of innocence, high hopes and sweet expectations.
They say be careful what you ask for. The viewers asked for physcial intimacy between Gopi and Ahem, and boy, did they get it. The CV's gave us a full fledged SD/SR with a vengeance. The jury is still out on that one, but we agree there was a physical intimacy that changed Gohem relationship at least for Gopi. Do I prefer the current Gohem? On one side, I love the fact that Gopi Vahu saw happiness she had dreamt about for years even if it was for a couple of hours (or was it for a few minutes). She got to know her Ahemji on a different level and this is her secret not known by anyone else even her Ahemji. She has happy memories of her own to cherish. But then she was thrown into depths of despair. I cried with her and for her. That fateful holi brought about a change in Gopi vahu. I am not able to pin point though exactly what. Did she lose a part of her hopeful self as she seemed to say to her Kanhaji who she thought had abandoned her also. I feel this pain in my heart whenever I see Gohem scenes these days. Even though Gopi seems to have come out of her shell and Ahemji is more attentive than ever, I feel someone is squeezing my heart when I see Gohem interaction. I feel happy for Gopi for the joy she felt in her union but at the same time, I am sad. I know this is some kind of progress in their relationship, but that's not how I wanted it. I almost want to go back to the pre-holi happy, take it slow days.
