Is Shaheer Sheikh planning to quit Navya? - TC

It's celebration time on the sets of Swastik Pictures' Navya on Star Plus as the show is completing 200 episodes today (30 December 2011). It is surely a great achievement considering the fact that in today's time daily soaps come under the scanner after a month or two of its hitting the screen.

So everyone should be happy, but there is one actor who seems far from rejoicing. Who is he? Well, the lead of the show Shaheer Sheikh aka Anant.
Tellychakkar.com called up Anant to congratulate on completing 200 episodes and this is what we got in reply, "I am not really happy about it specially now, when the show is not doing great. I know it's a great achievement but I am not okay with the way things are shaping up in Navya."

Whoa…quite a revelation. So what is the problem? Is it slumbering TRPs?

"I am not bothered about TRPs. I joined this industry to explore my acting abilities. Initially, the show was quite promising and creatively exciting, but things changed as it progressed. I never wanted to be a part of this saas-bahu rona-dhona. But I think rona-dhonas work to gain TRPs" reveals Shaheer.

Shaheer further goes on to say that the plot in the show has gone completely off track. "Yes, everyone working on the daily soap is very helpful. But when I agree to play any character, I actually live it. But when I don't get satisfaction from my work, it takes a toll on my mind and body."

So why has things gone from good to bad in Navya? "I don't know the precise reason. But many people have quit the show and that has affected greatly."

Okay. So is he planning to quit Navya?"I can't do that as I am under a contract. But yes, I am not happy right now. Initially, everything was perfect, but now it has gone haywire. And if things don't change soon, I will have to take a harsh decision," ends Shaheer.
