What's a nastik?

Hey guys! I'm ignorant to most shudhh Hindi terms and don't no what a nastik is thus don't know why it pissed ASR so. Please explain. Does it mean atheist? If so he already claims to be one so why is he getting offended? HELP

Nastik means atheist. someone who does not believe in God.

He doesn't usually perform puja or prayers but it was his parents' barsi that's why he was offended.

nastik means a person who doesnt beleive in any relegion or god

its a good thing that u watch hindi soaps , not particularlt this..nowadays, my frnds , and classmates (few of them) think its a shame to watch anything related to india and wear and do etc related to india--

for example, a person feels ashamed of herslef ( my class) coz shes a malayali!

Yes, i speak urdu, not hindi so i also get confused when they use terms like that. I think it does mean atheist though, i read it somewhere. I think its horrible to be ashamed of your country/culture. I am afghan and I love watching IPKKND, its such a great show, all the actors and cv's are doing a wonderful job
