Hello everyone this is Neha,
I am writing this post because is it just me or you guys too think about it. See khushi wears her duppatta in her neck and same is the case geet but I dont get the part that they act as if they are in full sharm and haya where as logically speaking the duppatta is just a dori hanging in their neck and when the air blows and duppatta falls on the hero they simply make a big "Uncomfortable moment" Jab kay they are not even using the duppata to cover.

I also want to bring up the topic of Saree if you observe what Khushi is wearing as a saree-- We think that is sober cloth but again logically speaking it is not covering her stomach and the blouse is kindoff backless if we ignore the thin strip. We kind off get what khushi is doing as good because they play the sweet music at the back and again we will think that LA is kinda vampish because bg music was demanding, or she is wearing a designer saree and has the same thing not covering her stomach may be not covering the shoulders too but again its one of a kind saree. If the same thing was worn was Khushi we will be like " Khushi looks beautiful" etc.,

Neways I actually wanted to know what is your view on the clothing used in these Televisions or should I say the concept that they associate with clothing like feeling shy or ... in the television shows.

Dupatta in these telly shows in my opinion is not for any portrayal of laaj or sharm... but its just used as a prop to flirt with the guy!!... I call it Pati, Patni, aur dupatta... the dupatta gets to flirt with the pati while the patni batting her eyelashes, and is out of breath feeling totally shy while the guy enjoys the dupatta rubbing his face and wiping off his sweat!!

The dupatta in this case is a mere prop. It's definitely not acting as a piece of clothing that is meant to cover you up. Take the 12 July episode as an example when Arnav saved Khushi and was carrying her out of the building. I'm sure you must have noticed how the length of the dupatta was growing with every scene. At one point, I thought it was long enough to be a curtain. 😆
Anyways, no matter what the lead female wears, she'll always be the good girl. Not only because she's good, but also because from the very beginning of the show we already have it stuck in our heads that Khushi is the lead and is the good one while La on the other hand is the vamp who's gonna snatch Arnav away. It's sort of psychological to believe whatever La's doing is bad and whatever Khushi does is good😎
Personally, I still do think that the sari La wore didn't look good on her at all. It definitely suits her character though. It wouldn't suit Khushi one bit.

That is so true, exactly what I was thinking. I mean seriously, that little duppata is not covering anything. So it makes no differnce whether you wear it or not. If you you use the dupatta properly, you should open it up so it actually covers up your neck/chest.
😛

Seriously...? Who wears a Duppatta to cover their chest now a days? It is worn like a scarf around your neck ...by not only TV actresses (I think) but almost everyone (I have interacted with), below a certain age group...I am actually OK with that...I dont think Khushi needs to cover herself more than how she already is with her current stye of clothing... Sorry dear, I don't share your POV...

Aaahhh WELCOME to the CHRONICLES of the DUPATTA

As Mahi sweetly put it...da dupatta is a prop used to flirt with the guy.
Ta Na Na Na Na Na (Dat was supposed to be Kuch Kuch Hota Hain music)
Winds blow. faster and faster
The dupatta dances its way to the hero's face
He breathes in the fragrance of the heroine
The herione get a mini-asthma attack and breathes faster and faster
He pushes it off from the face and holds it in his hand...lovingly.
A real long "eye lock" with soothing music in the background.
The heroine gets uncomfy and looks down
Hero releases the Dupatta...
JOB DONE
Heroine runs from der!

Don't we absolutely love DUPATTAs?? They do the noble job of getting the leads together.

But the dupattas NOW have a DHABBA in der track record!!
Our very dear ASR managed to rip a dupatta...
In da first episode he broke those string of beads in her blouse...
IS HE KINDA ALLERGIC TO CLOTHES??

Oh Fish! Ur topic was not about ASR's allergy to clothes. Am sure u'll forgive me for going astray.

Neways cuming back...Sumwhere Khushi's saree wasn't as revealing as La's. And yeah since Khushi is the lead of the show people are bound to accept her in any thing she wears while La will be not given the same acceptance as she is the haddi between the leads. But yeah the style Khushi wore...is worn even in the villages where culture is the most important aspect of living . I can't vouch the same for La coz I've yet to see sumone sport a shoulderless in the village in da name of normal wear.

Interesting Topic BTW.
Hope sumone can give a good answer to yer queries.

I appreciate your POV and I am not against western look but what I am trying to convey is either be fully indian or define the indian culture or befully western. Like in Navya if you see they show her frineds to be wearing western clothes and again the bg music is good so it again an accepted thing. All I am saying is if she wants to be the indian girl who is fully ethic then define it if that is what she is trying to portray or go fully western. But again good point.

Also, I have observed one thing technically speaking in any television show no body actually falls for the character be it geet or ipknd. They fall in love /lust with the person they stay in close physical proxemity and again it because of those clothes giving them the "uncomfy moments"
