I worked on the day my mom died: Paresh Rawal

My toughest scene: Paresh Rawal

In the 26 years of my film-acting and theatre, I've done some of the most challenging roles.

But my toughest scene I performed on June 23, 2010 in Sri Lanka for Anees Bazmi's Ready. It was the day my mother passed away.

When I heard the news, I felt a part of me died that very instant. I was numbed with grief. It wasSalman Khan who gave me strength to go through the day.

He made all the arrangements for my travel back to Mumbai. Unfortunately, there was no connecting flight from Colombo to Mumbai till late in the evening. Instead of sitting in a corner swathed in my grief, I decided to finish my work for the day.

Believe me, it was the toughest performance I've ever given. I had to act drunk and then confront Mahesh Manjrekar in a party sequence.

I had to threaten him that I'd blurt out the truth about Asin's identity. Under normal circumstances the scene would have been a cakewalk.

But given the situation I was shattered by the loss, I could barely think straight, let alone act drunk and scream dramatic lines. It was an ordeal. But in hindsight it was a welcomed ordeal.

If I was not working at that point of time, I'd have probably collapsed with grief. Salmanbhai and his father Salimsaab were a great support and comfort. I don't think I could've gone through that day if I hadn't channelised my grief into work."

That's very sad forParesh Rawal...good for him for attempting to finish the scene

That's also kind of Salman to be there for him...He definitely has made mistakes but I've noticed at times that he also goes out of his way to help those who really need it, like Paresh did in this case

Sir...would you please read my post once again. I did say Salman did a great job. If you that think thats bashing then I have nothing to say. I was only pointing out that no one care to praise the courage of Paresh Rawal which was the main point of the article.

You didn't read the article, if u have u won't be posting such stupid remarks. This is not a Salman's PR Issued article where Salman Khan is being praised, This is a Interview of Paresh Rawal, as he is sharing his sad moments when he was devastated... This is a common sense that ya It is the biggest courage a Man could do in this kind of situation, Even if this happens in my office, i will also help the person in this situation.

You Started with your Post "Fans are Fan"...Specifically pointing as Sallu didn't do anything great, and members here should oNly post about Paresh Rawal and not Salman khan...

Paresh Rawal's mother expire During the Ready Shoot, He is Just Sharing as how he manage to shoot at that day and then how he came for the funeral...

Any Celebrity in place of Salman would have helped Paresh, I WOULD have given him Same respect... not coz only Sallu did so i am saying dis...

Who the hell are you to question about Fans say or what people say after Reading the Article... Everybody has a right to post whatever they want in whatever way... Spare them atleast in these kind of threads.

I'm not a Salman fan

I said "good for him"...I didn't think that I had to write more for the sake of propriety. My thinking was that Paresh was never going to read this so there was no need to be eloquent...I apologize for my heartlessness
