We, the cool CCs, are having a phillum/movie poster contest!
(Cool because many of you listed us as people you'd wanna befriend on IF...yes I know it was a cop out but that doesn't deflate our bloated egos).
Why?
Movie posters have a big part in marketing films, and sometimes we remember the poster as much as we remember the movie.
There's the Kurbaan one which created quite a bit of publicity, the Lagaan poster which proudly displays the underdogs, and then the one which shows a boat and two star-crossed lovers:
But what if Titanic didn't have Mr. DiCaprio's and Kate Winslet's faces along with the passenger liner? What if the poster for Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge had Maan and Geet instead of SRK and Kajol?
Maybe Namastey London just showed a picture of the Buckingham Palace with a huge tilak on its forefront? Maybe the one for Bommarillu displayed a picture of a father and son holding hands?
And what if Devdas's poster just showed a picture of a diya with the flame flickering away?
There's many different possibilities and many movies!
Hence, we're giving you guys a chance to present your vision for a movie poster.
What we want is some sort of a creative, aesthetic design that is not like the original movie poster. Some of the things to consider might be uniqueness, creativity, aesthetics, concept and clarity of design.
- The poster can be for a movie that has been released, is in the works, or is a hypothetical prequel/sequel of a released movie.
- Your movie poster must include a title. Other information such as a tagline and/or names of the (hypothetical or actual) cast, crew, release date, director and production company are not required (but are preferred).
- The movie can be in any language (Ingles, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Persian, French, Korean, German, Swahili, etc).
- Deadline to submit is July 13th, and you PM your entries to crazycreative
- Follow IF's rules along with the above stated ones.
- Do not put your copyrights on the poster! (Reason being we don't want to influence IF members when they vote)
- You may submit multiple entries as long as they are not for the same movie.
We will be having two rounds of judging wherein first the IF members vote and then the CCs will vote.
So please don't delay, be creative, and have fun!

P.S. If you want brownie points you can respond by saying 'challenge accepted' since some of us CCs seem to be on a Barney Stinson high.
Edited: Deadline has passed now so we're done collecting the entries. Be back soon with the voting thread...
