PART- TWENTY THREE
The blood that trickles down has a story to tell,
with every drop it casts a spell.
A story of hope, love and despair,
A magic as elemental as the air.
A pain which is exquisite and fierce
The story of love in a heart no emotions could pierce.
Diggu looked down at his gun absentmindedly. He was standing outside the gates of Nana's house. He would have never agreed to take up the gun again if it had'nt been an offer to get rid of Dutta. His brow tensed at the thought of the man."Dutta Shriram Patil, tereko to apun maaf naich kar sakta hai. Mere hath ek baar fir aaj khoon se rangenge aur vo khoon hoga tera!" he spat bitterly. Twisting his lips in disgust, he tucked the gun into the lining of his jeans and started walking towards his van.
Nakusha stared at the shut door. From her position, it was possible to watch the activities outside the room as the door had a glass viewing pane in the middle. As she stretched a bit, she could spot Dutta's broad back against the door.She could also catch glimpses of the nervous faces of Aai Saheb and Babi. But it was the outline of the man with his back against the door who had her attention. She gazed at him as if she could not bear to let him go out of her sight. There had been a strange emptiness in her heart the moment he had separated himself from her. She had been unable to find the correct words but one thing she knew for sure. She loved him.She loved him beyond reason.How and why, she did not know but this was the unchangeable truth. "Mujhe chahe kuch yaad na aaya ho saab, pan mai ek baat janti hai.Mai aapse bahut pyar krti hai saab. Apse door jane ka soch bhi nhi sakti hai mai." she thought blushing slightly.
"Dutta!" Aai Saheb exclaimed anxiously he moment he stepped out of Nakasha's room. His entire body seemed to burn with feverish desire. To add to it, he was furious with himself for haing lost control back there. Somehow, he swallowed back his anger and managed to give a reassuring smile. "Vo thik hai Aai. Hosh aa gya hai usse." he spoke with some effort. Aai Saheb closed her eyes with relief while Babi broke into a huge smile. "Jagadamb, Jagadamb!" Aai saheb murmered with reverence. "Duta bhau, kya Nakusha ki yadasht lauti hai?" Kala's silky voice put forward the query. By now a headache was starting to throb at his temples. Wrinkling his brow with discomfort, he grunted, "Nahi Tai, ek hi sawaal akhir kab tak karenge aap sab? Is baat ki khushi manaiye ki vo thik hai bas!"he growled. With those words, he started to leave but then he stopped and turned around. Grimly, he announced, "Koi Nakku se kuch nhi puchega. Kya hua, kyu hua, kuch bhi nahi." Then looking at Kalavati directly, he spoke again, "Mai apni baat dohraunga nahi." Kalavati gave him a sweet smile but he did not respond and continued to stare at her hard.Rather nervous Kalavati looked away and Dutta's lips bent into a scornful smile. Turning away, he fished out his cell phone and rang up Baaji.
Diggu jumped out of his van and started walking towards Patil Niwas. As he approached the gate, the guards came forward to stop him from advancing further. "Abey shane, koun hai re tu? Idhar kya kar rela hai?" one guard asked him roughly. Diggu kept quiet but the pressure of his grip on the gun increased. "Abey bolta kaiko nahi hai? Kaiko aaya tu idhar?" the guard persisted. "Bhau. Bhau se milne ka tha." he muttered slowly. The guard scrutinized him carefully and then asked. "Tere ko jante hai bhau?" Diggu smiled sarcastically and replied, "Haan, apun bhau ka bada jigri hai. Appointment hai apna bhau ke sath." "Hamari Nakku vahini ki tabiyat bahut kharab ho gayeli thi, to bhau log, Keshav Mhatre hospital gaye." the guard responded. Diggu's entire body seemed to turn into cold ice. Fear gripped him. What had happened to Nakusha? What had the man done to her? Without another word, he turned to leave but the guard stopped him. "Bhau aayenge to kya bolne ka? Apna naam to btata ja." Diggu bit his lower lip and then twisted around. With one swift movement he shot both the guards at the gate. "Tere bhau me agar rati bhar akal hogi to samajh jayega ki apun koun hai." he spat.
"Haan Baaji, sun Nakusha ki tabiyat ab thik hai.Par mai yahan Nakku ko akele nhi chodna chahta. Tu gadi nikal aur Aai Saheb aur baki sab ko Patilwadi le ja." Dutta spoke into the phone. As Baaji replied in affirmative, Dutta cut the call and stared into emptty space for a moment."Tere aage itna bebaas kyu ho jata hoon mai Nakku? Apne jazbaaton par kabu pana ab mere liye bahut mushkil hota ja raha hai." he thought sadly. With a grim face, he proceeded towards the reception counter to complete the rest of the formalities.
"Nakku! Meri bacchi!" Babi screamed and burst into tears. Hugging Nakusha, Babi kept on repeating her name even as Aai Saheb and everyone else watched sympathetically. "Bas kar Babi, Nakku ki tabiyat abhi bhi puri tarah thik nhi hui hai. Waise bhi Doctor ne kaha tha ki hume use pareshan nhi hone dena." Aai Saheb spoke gently as she put a hand on Babi's shoulder. Sniffling hard, Babi got up and wiped her tears by the edge of her pallu. She stepped back and Aai Saheb walked up to the bedside. Sitting down on the corner of the bed, she gently put a hand under Nakusha's chin. For a long moment, she gazed at Nakusha's face with tear filled eyes. Slowly she leant ahead and planted a soft kiss on Nakku's forehead. As Nakusha smiled back, Aai Saheb breathed, "Jagadamb, teri kripa hai." "Nakusha tum aisa kaise kar sakti ho?" Madhu blurted out angrily. As Nakusha gave her a confused look,Leela immediately cut in. "Uski baat pe dhyan mat de Nakku. Tu bas apna khyal rakh." "Han Nakku,apna dhyan rakh. Hamare bhau ki khatir."Kalawati spoke sweetly. Giving her one last worried glance, Aai Saheb got up and ushered everyone else out of the room."Chalo sab abhi yahan se, Nakusha ko aaram krne do." she said. Glancing back at Nakku, she smiled and spoke,"Ghabrana mat, hum yahi hain, aur fir Dutta bhi to hai. Tu bas aaram kr abhi." Nakusha nodded her head in assent and everyone walked out.
"Madhu tum chup nahin reh sakti thi? Bhul gayi bhau ne kya kaha tha?" Leela exclaimed angrily. "Mai kya karu Tai, mujhe Nakku par gussa aar raha hai. Bhau ki halat dekhi hai na aapne?" Madhu responded frustratedly. "Kya hua meri halat ko?" Dutta's deep voice sounded from behind them.Twisting around, they saw Dutta walking towards them with a curious expression. "Vo, ah, vo bhau, vo."Madhu stammered helplessly. "Vo kuch nhi hum sab yehi baat kar rahe the ki aap thak gaye honge aur aapki halat thik nhi lagti."Supriya said quickly. Dutta waved his hand with irritation. "Meri halat bilkul thik hai. Aai Saheb, raat hone ko hai, ab aap log ghar jaiye. Maine Baaji ko bol diya hai.Vo aapko ghar chod dega." he spoke. "Par Dutta tum?" Aai Saheb protested. Smiling briefly, he shook his head"Nahi aayi, mai yahi rukunga, Nakku ke pass." he stated. Supriya quietly advanced towards him and spoke meekly, "Agar aap bura na mane to mai Nakusha ke sah ruk jati hun, aap sab ghar chale jaiye." Dutta gave her a long hard glance making her blush in embarrasment."Yahan har insaan ek baat samajh le to acha hoga.Nakusha meri patni hai. Vo meri zimmedari, mera pyar hai. Mujhe kya karna hai, kya nahi, ye mujhe na samjhaya jaye to behtar hoga." he declared in a cold voice. Deeply ashamed and hurt, Supriya looked down at the floor. Dutta bit his lower lip in anger and then spoke again, "Der ho rahi hai.Ab aap sab khade mat rahiye, Patilwadi ke liye nikaliye.Mai yehi pe rukunga."
Diggu put his foot down on the accelerator. "Dutta tune meri Sayeba ko agar kisi kism ki taklif pahuchane ki koshish ki hai to mai tereko chodega nahin! Mai aa raha hai Dutta, tera game bajane aa rela hai mai !"
Yoohooo...mishez..did not pm bcos wanted to write more! nd haan love u guys fr ur patience...bvr always gets me to post! jab tk vo daant nhi lagati tb tak update nhi aata. life is madly hectic,,, we work in the dept till 10 pm almost everyday..!!!!!! but then guys its all good...love u all. i promise to try nd update at least once in a week! love u all muaahhh do comment...mishez...betr edit ur res!
