Thank you friends for the birthday wishes. He is turning 6 coming Monday. Just bought him a new bike today.

Next day

Sun shone at its full glory endowing the new light on Khurana Mansion, Delhi. Maan woke to a sense of fulfilling and enjoying his next two days with the entire family. It felt like the dawn had brought with it a lease of life to the house which has been shrouded in uncertainty.

Maan reached downstairs to find most of the family sitting in the garden enjoying the morning tea. There seemed to be a somber mood prevailing on everybody. Maan sighed and moved ahead touching feet of Rishab, Raj, Nisha and Juhi. Each in turn patted his head lightly.

Raj spoke "Maan, I am so proud of you. Thanks beta…"

Before Raj could complete his sentence, Rishab interrupted with a smack on Raj's shoulder "chal shukar hai mujhe thanks nahin kiya. Bach gaya tu….warna main thanks kahne baithunga to shayad pura trip khatam ho jaye……..acha yeh bata ki bachon ko thanks kehne ki kabse bimari lag gayi"

Man smiled "Koi baat nahin dad. Waise bade paa, main ek doctor hoon….fokat mein thode hi patient loonga. Itna kuch kiya hai maine aapki laadli ke liye aur aap sirf thanks se kaam chala rahe ho"

Rishab looked at Maan with confusion"Yeh tu kya kah raha hai"

Maan – "Aapko kyon khujli ho rahi hai…mujhe aapse thode hi kuch chaiye….jo chaiye who badi maa se chaiye"

Nisha smiled – "Kya chaiye mere laadoo ko"

"Kya Badi Maa…ab thode hi mota hoon" Maan stood up flexing his muscles. "Muscles dekhi hai meri"

Every body laughed. Maan was happy that finally everybody was lightning up. Nisha got up and pulled his cheeks "Are baba, laadoo to tu isliye hai ki kyonki tu mera laadla hai aur mitha mitha hai".

"Badi Maa…leave my cheeks…no one dares to pull Maan Singh Khurana's cheeks…and please don't change the topic"

"acha …bol kya chaiye"

"Haan…kyonki aapne meri mumma ko apne jaisa khana nahin banana sikhaya hai..to I have made menu for today and tomorrow. Kuch bhi bahar se nahin aayega"

Juhi pulled Maan's ear "Haaw…Maan tu Bombay chal…teri khair nahin"

"Kya karogi…apne haath ka hi to khilaogi"

Nisha laughed " acha menu bata"

Maan started rattling of at high speed "aaj morning poha, lunch mein spinach feta pasta, evening snack mein dhokla, dinner daal makhni, shahi paneer, bhindi aur poori…kal morning khasta kachori with aloo sabzi, lunch chole bhatura…evening chaat and dinner is your choice" "haan...dinner mein dono din mujhe makhane ki kheer chaiye"

There was a sudden silence with Nisha's eyes popping out.

Geet who had just come outside bursted out laughing…."Mumma…aapne bilkul thik naam rakha hai iska…Laadoo"

Rahul and Pari also joined in the fun " sach mein Maan….soch ley…kuch bhoola to nahin"

"I don't care about u guys…I miss badi maa's cooking and I am not joking"

Nisha finally held her hand up "Mere bache ko tang mat karo….to fikar mat kar….tera jo ji hai…sab banake khilaoongi main"

Next Day Night

Rishab, Juhi, Annie and Maan were finally ready to go to airport physically. But they were far from ready emotionally.

Last two days went by like a breeze. It was a long time since entire family was together. Geet's sickness had made last two days bitter sweet. Emotional outbursts and the closeness of family made it a rollercoaster ride.

Maan felt a dull ache in his heart. There was a different kind of restlessness which he could not understand. It felt like he was leaving his soul behind. After a along time, he felt alive in Geet's presence. He was scared to go back and slip into the dark, aloof and lonely life he was living.

On the other side Geet was feeling quite miserable as well. In last 4 weeks she had become very close to Rishab and Maan, though she was at peace to be with her family but she knew she was going to miss their love and caring. When she had gone to Rishab for help she has never envisaged the bond and love between them.

Raj, Rishab, Nisha and Juhi were also in a group hug. It felt like their family was ripping apart. Annie was talking to Pari and Rahul while both Geet and Maan were lost in their thoughts.

Entire family was busy in saying last goodbyes. Maan hugged Geet and whispered "I am going to miss you"

Geet suddenly got all teary "I never thought you will acknowledge your feelings….my sadu akdu….I am going to miss you too"

"Tu chahti kya hai…main yeh tera rota hua cehra yaad rakhun….give me a sweet smile"
