Lot of you are waiting for Maneet's confession. Well, first there has to be realization and then confession. So we are still some parts away from that. But as I am a sucker for happy FFs, I will try to ease your pain as much as possible.

Please let me know if at any point you feel things are getting dragged or need some changes. Your feedback, positive or negative, is appreciated.

Chapter 14 - Yeh Dooriyaan

Nine days later, Khurana Mansion Delhi

Geet felt the cool sea air on her face. She rocked along with the gentle waves rocking the yacht. She sighed at the beauty of moonlight falling on the waves below. She leaned down on the railing of the boat as if to touch the smooth silkiness of sea below when suddenly a pair of warm hands encircled her waist. She could feel his breath on her ears and she smiled due to the tickling sensation she felt. "Is chandni se dhuli hui tum meri pari lag rahi ho" he whispered in her ears while almost brushing the earlobe. She felt the butterflies in her stomach. His one hand was still on her waist where other travelled slowly upwards caressing her arm. He slid her sleeve towards her shoulder and kissed her there.

Geet woke up with a gasp and sunlight hit her face. There were Goosebumps on her arms and she could still feel the tingle and warmth of his lips. "Was I dreaming? Babaji I have gone mad." She knew that voice, those hands, that touch, those lips. "Geet tu kamli ho gayi hai...chi chi Babaji yeh kya soch rahi thi main Maan ke bare mein"

This last week had passed with both Geet and Maan adjusting their lives back with their respective families and at their respective homes. But there was a vast difference.

Geet who had always been loved and pampered suddenly felt herself lost in thoughts and lonely at times. She longed for Bauji's warm baritone voice and Maan's attention.

Maan on the other hand felt rejuvenated. He missed Geet and knew that change in him has been brought by her only. But he wanted to stay like this as now he remembered how nice it felt to be being himself. He was no more a lonely, brooding and angry doctor.

Geet could not forget Maan's face. Though she missed Rishab as well but by now she was very confused with her behavior. She shook her head as if to remove the memory of her dream which was imprinted in her mind.

"Hey Babaji…main Maan ke bare mein aisa soch rahi hoon….us Maan ke bare mein jisne mujhe paida hote hi god mein uthaya tha na…waise maine kapde pehne hue the ki nahin…haaw usne mujhe bina kapdon ke to nahin dekha hai…waise he used to stay here with us…bachpan mein to hum saath mein shower tak…oh no Babaji…shower Maan ke saath…who to bachpan tha ab to main badi ho gayi hoon" Geet slapped her forehead with force. "Damn it, Jhali sharam waram kuch bachi hai ki nahin…kya soch rahi hai nalayak"

She quickly moved away from bed blushing slightly at her thought. It didn't help that she was going in for a shower. 😳😳😳

She got ready quickly and left for family temple as it was Tuesday today. She kept her decorated puja thali and started lighting the diya. She had struck the match when for no apparent reason she suddenly was overcome by and overwhelming feeling of loneliness. Her eyes singed with tears and her heart just wanted Maan to be there with her at this moment. Her heart was behaving like a child throwing tantrums. She snapped back to reality when she felt a burning pain in her fingers. She looked down to see that her fingers were touching the flame. She quickly dropped the matchstick and put the finger in her mouth sucking to relive her pain.

Pandiji "Are beta tumhara dhyan kahan hai…kya hua sab thik to hain na"

Geet just smiled and completed the puja. On her way she again started talking to herself "ab main kisi ko kya bataoon mujhe kya hua hai. I don't know myself. Kisise puch bhi to nahin sakti… yeh kaisa ehsaas hai…kya yehi pyaar hai…nahin nahin…pyaar aur Maan ke saath. He is family aur yeh thik nahin hai. Babaji meri madad karo…main kya sochne pad gayi hoon"

Geet could not fathom her feelings. Why was she missing him so much? Geet knew that she was not weak hearted or nave in matter of hearts. As a matter of fact she could be downright ruthless if somebody offended her. Since school many boys had been interested in her. But her demeanor coupled with Rahul's presence had always been a deterrent to any unwanted attention. Her mind drifted to the particular case of Dev Malhotra.

Dev was a business man who had recently joined his family business. He made the mistake of undermining Geet thinking she is just a helpless woman.

He had been smitten by her beauty when he met her in one of the business meetings but Geet was least interested. First he tried to flirt with her, then impress and then downright confess his feelings. Every time Geet very politely told him that she was not interested.

But one night during a party he crossed his limits. He spiked Geet's drink with Chivas Regal scotch. Least he knew that Geet though not a regular drinker was used to taking a drink once a while. Not only this but she could hold her liquor quite well (better than Rahul in any case). The moment she touched her drink she knew what was going on and decided to play along to see how low the guy could get.

Dev had proceeded to take her away from the main party trying to fondle and kiss her. Geet who was in her complete senses kicked him where it will hurt the most and left. But that was not the end. She then proceeded to acquire shares of Malhotra's rival company and started a price war. Dev was forced to come to her office and beg for her forgiveness and that too in front of his father. She had relented only because of the old man.

She sighed back remembering her current problem of understanding her feelings for Maan. Finally she gave up. What can she do? "Jo hoga dekha jayega. Everything will be ok with time…right." (Poor girl, least she knew that her heart was already not hers and she will not be able to ignore these new feelings which were gripping her heart.)

Really nice update. I have read the story so far and I like it very much. Keep it up. About Maneet confession, u r right. Jab tak khud pata nahin chalega ke pyaar hain, confess kaise karnege...we will wait, don't worry.
