CHAPTER 19
Viren and Nivedita reached in the college. They started walking towards the class when a girl came and hugged Viren tightly. Viren was wondering that who the girl is. After few moments the girl kissed him on the cheeks and said "how are you Viren? I missed you so much." Viren looked at the girl and said "Sonia tum America se wapas kab aayi?" The girl replied "aaj hi." Then she looked at Nivedita and said "who is this girl Viren?"
Viren replied "oh I forgot to introduce her. She is Nivedita, my childhood friend and Nivedita, she is Sonia, our class mate and my very good friend. She was gone to America to attend an art seminar for the college."
Sonia replied "oh you are Nivedita. Viren told me about you. Viren chalo abhi mujhe tumse bahut sari baatein karni hain. See you later, Nivedita." Then she forced Viren to go with her.
For Nivedita , it was a very shocking experience. When Sonia kissed Viren on the cheeks, she felt like to slap Sonia. How can she do this? Viren left her alone to go with Sonia. She felt very angry on Viren. Shruti and Sneha joined Nivedita and said "Nivi tumne Viren ko kahi dekha kya?" Nivedita replied "haan abhi abhi wo Sonia ke sath gaya hai." Shruti replied "thank god Sonia ko Viren mil gaya. Wo tab se hamare piche padi hui thi ki hum Viren ko dhoondne main uski halp karein." Nivedita was still confused about Sonia. Sneha saw her face expressions and realized that.
She said "Sonia, Viren ki bahut achi dost hai. Tum usse nahi janti kyunki tumhare Shimla aane se pehle wo America chali gayi thi. Sonia aur Viren bahut hi ache dost hain aur hamesha ek sath rehte hain. Poora college to ye kehta tha ki Sonia Viren se pyar karti hai. Acha Nivi ab class ke liye chalein."
Nivedita did not saw Viren for the rest of the day. When she was waiting for Viren to leave for home together, Sonia and Viren came. Sonia said "Nivedita don't mind par Viren aaj mere sath mere ghar jaa raha hai. Tum aaj akele ghar chali jao." Viren tried to say something to her when Sonia called him and said "Viren chalo, abhi to humein movie dekhne bhi jaana hai." Viren left from there. Nivedita saw them left from there with her mouth open and eyes getting big.
In the evening, Nivedita was watering the plants but she was still fuming about Viren and Sonia. She was feeling very angry on Viren when she heard Viren's voice "Nivedita kya kar rahi ho?" Nivedita turned towards him and felt her face going red. She replied "main khana bana rahi hoon. Tumhe dikhai nahi de raha ki main kya kar rahi hoon?" Viren questioned her "Nivedita tum mujhse naraz ho kya?" Nivedita replied "nahi main tumse naraz nahi hoon. Kya hua ab Sonia nahi hai tumhare sath?" Viren realized that Nivedita is angry from him as he spend all the day with Sonia and ignored her. He wanted to tease her more.
He replied "nahi Sonia ne kaha hai ki aaj raat wo aur main dinner ke liye kahin bahar jayenge. Tab tak maine socha tumse baat kar loon." Nivedita stopped watering the plant and turned toward Viren and said "koi jarurat nahi hai mujhse baat karne ki. Jao jaakar ab Sonia se hi baat karna." Viren said mischievously "agar baat karne ka mood nahi hai to bata do main chala jata hoon." Viren turned away from Nivedita to go back in the Sood's house when he heard a loud 'thud' voice and he turned again to see what happened.
Nivedita was feeling very angry at Viren's reply. When Viren turned away from her to go back, she also turned towards her house. She turned so fast that her chunri got stuck between her slippers and she lost her balance and fell on the ground.
Viren turned and saw Nivedita on the ground. He hurried towards her and helped her to sit on the ground. He checked Nivedita leg which was paining very badly and said "dekhkar nahi chal sakti kya? Tumhari aankhien hain ya button? Ab lagi chot. Lagta hai tumhare leg main moch aa gayi hai. Tension mat lo kal tak thik ho jaaogi." Viren looked at Nivedita who was also looking at him in a very loving manner.
She turned away her eyes from his face and tried to stand up. When she tried to stand, she again was going to fall but Viren prevented her from falling by placing his one arm around Nivedita's waist. Viren said "aaram se. abhi tum bilkul bhi nahi chal paaogi." Nivedita replied "nahi main chal sakti hoon." She again tried to walk. She felt her leg paining. Viren saw that Nivedita is unable to walk and hurried toward her. He caught her and said "tum bilkul bhi meri baat nahi maanti." Then he lifted her in his arms and carried her to the room. Nivedita placed her hand around Viren's neck and was looking at him very lovingly. He also began to look at her then Nivedita started to look at the surroundings.
He placed her on the bed and applied iodex on her leg. Nivedita's anger got melted after she saw that how much Viren cares for her. Viren sat on the bed and said "Nivedita I am sorry. Main aaj tumhe ignore karna nahi chahta tha par Sonia meri bahut achi dost hain. Itne dino baad wo wapas aayi to maine socha ki usse baat kar leta hoon warna wo bhi bahut hurt ho jaati. I am sorry Nivedita." Then he holed his ears.
Nivedita saw this and laughed and said " koi baat nahi Viren. Kabhi Kabhi aisa ho jata hai. Main tumse naraaz nahi hoon."
Viren and Nivedita looked at each other and smiled.
