I know its a day late, but here's my view on Monday's episode. I would love to read yours too so feel free to disagree...or agree. đ

Episode 16:
So this week started with Imli spiking Vidya's drink and all the ladies dancing unrestrained in total abandon under the influence of alcohol. While the men are dancing downstairs, Aditya decides to check out the women's party but ends up dreaming of Priya. Now...I realize this is a Hindi series and that for ratings to grow, a dance every so often between the lead pair is pretty much the norm. This reality of the television business made me overlook my misgivings about the fact that Aditya & Priya's relationship has not reached the point where a slow song dream makes sense. Even with that set aside, the dance, as shown, broke the rhythm of the sequence it was inserted in. Had Aditya started dancing with the women and imagined one of them as Priya, the screenplay would have had a far smoother flow. Granted, this is a done to death way of showing a lead character's imagination, but it would at least not have been a tempo buster!
Meanwhile, Rishabh, as expected, creates a furor while in a drunken state. It remains to be seen if his taunts about Bramhanand's so called power were merely empty words or based on some deeper knowledge. In any case, it made me wonder what the root cause of the apparent hatred between the two was. Does it have anything to do with the accident that crippled and changed Rishabh forever or was it merely based on professional jealousy as Aditya's character seems to think? It is also clear that Rishabh recognizes that Uttara admires her jijaji but more interestingly, it is only Devyani's interference that he responds to. I hope the writers show some of the context for Rishabh's respect for Devyani in the future screenplays of the series.
Moving on then to what was the most interesting part of the episode'the conversation between Devyani & Gaurav. It not only directly hinted at issues between father & son, it also revealed a relationship dynamic between Devyani & Bramhanand. And'as predicted by Gaurav, Bramhanand blames Devyani for the spectacle created by Rishabh. Bramhanand's verbal abuse provided some basis for Devyani's reaction to what is happening in Uttara's life. Devyani manages her husband's abuse by running as perfect a home as possible and not letting anything affect that. Given this, it is not surprising that she thinks managing Rishabh's abuse is in Uttara's hands.
The episode closed with Aditya finding out that Priya lived in Ghaziabad.
From an overall perspective, I loved:
- The acting in the episode which was fantastic. The actor who plays Rishabh was spectacular to watch.
- I loved that the screenplay showed the carefree side of the women.
What did not work for me was:
- The screenplay for the dream sequence.
- Still find that Ishq Hai does not fit in well. It was better than the previous times though!
- Why did Aditya & Gaurav not jump in to drag Rishabh away as he started on his tirade?
Cheers,
Jaya
