Date of birth: April 21 A veteran of nearly 50 films and an acclaimed television star, Shivaji Satham is considered among the finest actors in the industry.
After completing his graduation in Chemistry and then a Diploma in Business Administration, Shivaji Satham got himself a job in Central Bank of India. Always fascinated by theatre, he first participated in the inter bank stage competition and it was here that his talent was spotted.
He made his debut way back in 1980 with the hit TV series Rishte-Naate. Eight years later, he took part in another TV show called Famous Trials of India, where he played NC.Kelkar- the right hand man of Lokmanya Tilak Since then he's mostly featured in films, Marathi serials and theatre. He was part of the successful Marathi show Ek Shunya Shunya which was directed by CID director BP.Singh. He's been widely appreciated for his roles in successful Hindi films like Vaastav, Kurushetra and 100 days.
Despite doing so many films, Shivaji has become a household name through the popular crime investigation series CID where he plays ACP Pradyuman. CID is the longest running crime series in India.
Shivaji played cricket for his college (Maharishi Dayanand) and took part in the selection trial for Mumbai University. However, he had to choose education over cricket and thus backed out. Shivaji and his friends from Marathi theatre have formed their cricket team 'The Upstagers.'
