Part 4

Preparations were on in full swing. Sid barely got to see his mom in the house in the days before the get-together. Some Christmas party it was. It had become more of a pain for Siddhant.

Meanwhile, Armaan and Shilpa were planning to come and meet Sid. Armaan hadn't met his buddy for weeks. As he was invited by Smriti, he thought it would be the best occasion to meet his friend and give him a surprise.

A few days passed and soon the day arrived for the party. Guests were starting to appear around early evening. Sid was already ordered to greet every guest inside without no complaints.

Sid's anger had taken a lot to cool down. With a solemn expression, he came down to stand at the door. He hadn't decided what to wear and so chose a simple shirt with jeans. Who even cared what he wore to the party? He wanted it to pass ASAP.

Standing at the door,he looked upset, "Why did mom talk me into this? Plain embarrassing." Muttering under his breath, he didn't notice Armaan heading towards the entrance with Shilpa.

Armaan looked extremely handsome. Shilpa had a white dress on and looked extremely beautiful. Armaan looked at Sid at the entrance and smiled.

"Hey man. How are you?"

Sid looked at Armaan and was pleasantly surprised. Hugging him he asked, "Hey dude. When did you get here?"

Armaan replied with a content smile, "Your mom invited me. And I am glad she did."

Shilpa(smiling), "Hey Siddy. How are you? God its been such a long time since I saw my friend!"

Sid(high-fying her), "Yup. Same here. Well come in guys.! Are you gonna stand here and talk?"

Siddhant led Armaan and Shilpa in the living area and again made way to the entrance to greet the guests after telling them.

One by one, families entered the house after meeting Sid.

Siddhant was already tired of standing there. He noticed that Riddhima hadn't reached yet. His thoughts were answered directly when she made way towards the entrance with her parents in the front. She looked beautiful. Her hair was down and she wore a simple off-white creamy dress. For the first time,she didn't look angry or depressed. She just looked normal.

Her parents were greeted by Sid and he told them the way to the living area. Riddhima had looked shocked to see him standing there. She looked at him wordlessly and entered with her parents.

Finally, Sid went inside his own house after all the guests had reached. He saw Riddhima sitting in a corner with a blank expression looking at everyone. Her mother sat beside her. It looked as if she was explaining something to Riddhima.

Sid crossed the room to where Armaan and Shilpa were chatting away.

"Hey. Finally got free."

Armaan(laughing), "Aunty really gave you a task,didn't she?"

Shilpa joined in, "Haha yeah it must be tiring to stand there for more than an hour.!"

Sid huffed, "Obviously.! I can't want for this party to end. Weird plus boring."

Shilpa relpied with sarcastically, "Yeah yeah we know how you feel about parties but please abhi control your emotions!"

Sid laughed. "Yeah yeah I am controlling them,aren't i?"

"And you are doing a good job. Hey by the way, how is your school going?"

The laugh slowly turned into a complaining one. "Don't ask. Our teachers have officially lost it. I don't start my homework and they give another assignment before I even start.! I have loads piled up in my room. Plus that new girl Riddima just joined our school as in my class." Sid pointed out to Riddhima sitting far away.

Shilpa and Armaan both turned their heads to see the girl. Sid didn't even know why he was telling them about Riddhima. Hell, she was just a new student plus not the subject there.

'Wow. She's pretty." Shilpa commented.

"Yeah. She is." Sid agreed. Armaan just looked at the two commenting on the new girl. He also chimed in, "Yeah. I guess."

Slowly the talk went from Riddhima to their boring school lives. They didn't notice Riddhima walking towards them. She stopped in front of the three and Sid noticed her.

"Hey."
