Heyloo friends...
Today's episode left me with many questions...would like to know your all thoughts/feedback on the same!
Bindiya is a perfect wife, perfect daughter in law ,perfect daughter, perfect sister and a perfect human above all. Then why she has to suffer all the time?
She is educated ,talented and good at house hold chores as desired by all ,then why every time she has to prove herself infront of others.
She always understood for the truth and by the truth then why her own husband taunts her saying i accepted you irrrespective of what happend between us or rather with me!Was HE WORTHY OF HER? 😳
He never had any job in hand, he never supported her if we leave one or two incidences. He only blamed her for his own misery, he has taken off his frustration on her many times but she listened quietly never uttered a word in defence. Why?
Today he expected her to support his family over her's cant she have her own brains and choice? Doesnt she has a right to stand beside her family if a MAN or a Husband has every right to be with his. Why??
Because she is a Women? This show is not showing something out of an imagination this is the reality of Women in India...The talk of Women Liberalization and Women empowerment is mere words and have no meaning in Society!
Is it a curse to be born as a women??

No Nish. It is definitely not a curse to be born a woman anywhere! God knows what the world would be like if it was just men... they would have killed themselves and become extinct!

Jokes aside, what you have raised is a serious issue. In spite of everything going for her, Bindiya suffers because she believes, like millions of women do in India and across the world, that is through pain and suffering and sacrifice that a woman can become strong! That women are powerfl because we can withstand pain, physical and emotional! But that is wrong... and there is lot of evidence to show that those women who refuse to put up with nonsense and disrespect are actually better off, than women who put up with it!

So why is Bindiya putting up with it? Because life seems too scary otherwise! Where would she have gone, if instead of agreeing to the wedding, she had called the police and got her mother and brother arrested? Her mother is a woman too... was she suffering because she had 3 daughters?

Where would Bindiya had gone if she had refused to stay in the Sinha household? Who would have helped her?

Am sure someone somewhere would have come along and eventually helped her out. She needed to be brave, and know how the world worked.

This has to change and women like Bindiya should just say 'to hell with you guys' and do the right thing. She could have gone to the police a long time ago- to put her mother behind bars, to get Akki arrested for trying to kill her, to put Vinay in prison for domestic violence! But she did not...

And let us remember- Punpunwali is also a woman. Not all women suffer. Some cause suffering to other women...

I too am a female and donot think my being so is a curse.

Bindiya herself has been the main reason for her own suffering because she has tolerated everything quietly. She has fulfilled her duties as a wife, daughter and DIL but wat abt d duty towards her ownself and d society at large. She has failed in them. She didnot respect herself and got no respect in turn.

Had she decided 2 fight no one would had supported her. But it is just not abt support. It is more abt d mindset.

Luk at poonam d coward. She has Bimz rock solid support and is a working woman but does not has guts 2 fight for her dead bro or help her sister Bindiya in her fight.

It is high time that women start standing up for themselves.

P.S. Even PPW has been beaten by her husband with chappal.

Interesting topic. No, I don't think that its a curse to be born as a woman. Every creation of God is unique and beautiful and so a woman is also beautiful. Being a woman, is a pride ... 😊

Rasika has said it all so well. Umm ... I think the "Lady, you are weak and you need protection" mantra is passed on by our ancestors from ages. Unknown territories are risky. So be safe at your in-laws place or at your parents place ... a known enemy is better than an unknown enemy. Its hard to break off that mindset ... its kinda brainwashed that a woman is inferior and a man is superior ....

Apart from that I think most of the women never live for themselves. They always put their family and society's interests before their own interests. Compromises are a part and parcel of life but, women indulge too much in to it thereby losing their identity and credibility. Men take advantage of this very characteristic feature of women and start exploiting them and make them to dance to their tunes.

Educated or not educated doesn't matter. So long as the women don't reconsider their priorities, things wont change ... they'll stay as it is ...

Disclaimer: The foll post is not related 2 d serial.

Even after posting d above comment I would like 2 say somethings make me wonder if d title is true.

Some days back a 15 yr old girl of a village of West bengal was made 2 roam nude for hours in d village being continously beaten on panchayat's orders. All this because she had married agst village rules.

Had it been a boy he would had been beaten or shot dead. Death also luks humane when compared with d above ordeal.

Every 50 mins a girl is raped in India as per India today. Some of dem do approach courts for justice but either it is not given or is extremely delayed.

great post nish... well I think most Indian (and Telly) woman are suffering big time....cause for the simple reason they allow men and some woman to let them be treated as garbage...
I blame the parents off the girls for this... cause they teach them to suffer en accept everything what's others due to them...parents should learn girls not only value's but to stand strong.... have a backbone...make a woman independent...
we (woman) dont need a man... we are able to stand on our 2 feet and fight the world...
my problem these day's with almost all the Indian soaps is: the woman suffering... what ever channel you watch you get to see this nothing more...I realy wanna know is that reality...are all woman mistreated ...or is telly promoting woman's suffering....
bindiya problem is her lack off a selfrespect....her forced marraige was her downfall (cause she let her mom en bro marry her off against her will) and after that her suffering came...why did she took all the crap Vinay and his fly put her trough...
why was she suffering... cause off her marraige????, sorry but that is crap why should a woman respect a forced relation...did vinay valued it...and she let ppl abuse and torture her...cause her upbringing and values..she became a bharti nari/ sati sawitri....
I wonder should we call her brave or spineless...

I don't think its a curse to be born as a woman. Everyone has the opportunity to make well or waste of their life. I know of women who were pitted against all odds, struggled and fought in life to attain what is important to them.

The social setup for women in rural india may not be as liberating as what you would find in the western world. And in India the 'destiny' and 'fate' factor also play very important role where many blame it on the above and compromise with life.

Dowry and Caste system are also major players in women falling victim to such practices. So its actually in the hands of the individual to rise above such evils against them...easily said huh....but yes i can vouch for the fact i have known individuals who have done just the same...its just a matter of living with self-respect and there is nothing wrong with that...

Now indian soaps have a over dramatic way of portraying things, especially suffering of women...that being said, someone in real life doing what Bindiya is doing, then there is no sympathy from me...when you are endowed with such capabilities to achieve something, and you choose not to, then maybe you are deserved to get whatever you are getting...may sound harsh, but i'm a firm believer that everyone should make the best of their life and its not selfishness or arrogance to strive to live with self respect...

What wonderful views and what an awesome topic here!! Bravo to all for commenting their valuable thoughts 👏 ~

I have got nothing more or less to add here so will share this poem with y'all...

Where do we go from here?

By- Sujata Venkatraman

Several centuries
Have slipped by between our thin fingers
The Rani of Jhansi asks me from the grave
Are we free and equal at last?

I hang my head: there is so much to do.
My feminine paranoia has no cure,
Some drunken husband is beating his wife,
Some female child has seen her starving grave,
Some woman went with only half the wages
Some woman was raped and could not fight
Some woman married an irregular old chap
And I still have to prove everything I do.
And you call this a hyperbola of my fantasy?

Two droplets of summer
Three teaspoons of hope
Two tablespoons of courage
A jug of education
A sprig of equal laws
Ten sticks of economic liberty

Will you concoct me this elixir
So I may tell the Rani that she may breathe?

Cheers,

Sana~

What ever we say write or do..a fact is a fact Women always been considered as second grade citizen of any country. and Only invasion by Aliens could change this phenomina on earth. Its not a joke but a reality.
IF we talk about the developed countries then here are some facts.
USA never had any female president
UK most of board of directors in companies are males, as they dont prefer femals
Japan many articles with proof mentions that if you want to crack some deal in business then you should go with a male, just to make sure that ppl hear your ideas or else they will discard you.
UAE a women can not go shopping alone and many such restrictions.
So here are the stats from worlds so called "MODERN" countries...leave alone India and our cities.
