Divyanka's POV
I ran a hand through my hair. I told Sharad to make himself comfortable, and that I was going to go change. I changed into a long sleeve shirt and sweats. It would be a while before I felt comfortable showing any skin at all. I walked into the living room and plopped down on the loveseat, next to Sharad, facing him. He looked up at me, and sat facing me too. He put a hand on my knee. I looked down at at, and then back up at him.
Sharad: "Hey, listen. I'm-I'm really sorry for taking you to such a stupid party. I should've known there'd be people like that there.."
His voice trailed off, as he looked into my eyes. I was going to put my hand on his, but I decided not to.
"It's not your fault." I looked down. "Just..let me ask you something. Are all guys..jerks?" I looked up at him, to see what he would say.
Sharad's POV
I chuckled. "Well, honestly---yeah." She smiled. "You know, as weird as this may sound..I don't feel so much-violated, as I just feel...pissed off, you know?"
"I know what you mean." I replied, taking my hand off her knee. "You do?" She asked, kind of sounding surprised. "Yeah. I know, that, I haven't known you for too long. But I know you enough to understand you. You aren't one of those girls, who is emotional at everything. You--(I let out a laugh saying this) You have a lot of anger filled inside you."
She sighed, and brought both legs up on the couch, and let her hands fall on to them. "You know what? You're right." She leaned her head against the couch. "I guess..I'm different."
"And don't change. I like you the way you are." She smiled, but didn't say anything. I broke the silence. "You know...I know this sounds stupid, but I'm happy to have found someone like you." She laughed a little. "Define someone like me."
"Well...I'm happy to find a friend like you. Someone I can talk to. None of the girls I ever went out with were the talking type. They were all so...clingy. And I know you may seem shocked, but..I'm happy you rejected me. Like when we first met. I kind of needed to hear no..for once." I sighed..wondering what she would say next. She laughed. "That's not stupid at all. And...I'm glad I found a guy..who's just a friend. Who isn't so..ugh." I raised an eyebrow. "Are you kidding me? I'm not 'ugh'?"
"Well you were at first. But now? Now...you're...you're....(she looked up at me) you're a good friend." I turned myself fully so I was completly facing her. "That's good to know." She giggled. "But...aren't we like..going out?" I scrunched my eyebrows. "Like...well..thats what people think." She said. "Well what do you want to do? Do you want to keep it the way it is? Or..tell people we're just friends?" She sighed. "I don't know...it would be kind of weird acting like we're dating in public, but acting as friends when we're alone."
"But...I don't want guys to think that your single...and like..try to mess with you and stuff." She half rolled her eyes, and put her hand on mine. "Sharad...I really appreciate that you don't want people messing with me. But..I can take care of myself. And--" I interuptted. "I know..its just that, I care about you." She smiled at me. "I know, I care about you too. But...it's not like I'm a model..and gorgeous and stuff. Guys aren't just going to throw themselves at me. That guy was drunk." I slipped my hand away, and put it on my chest. "I'm sorry, did you just say that you're not gorgeous?!" I smiled at her. She leaned back against the sofa again. "Of course. Why else would he go to my best friend right after I left?" She sighed..her ex really hurt her. "You know why? Because he didn't deserve someone as great as you. He was probably just looking for a clingy girl..some one to make out with. Now I know I'm not one to talk, but, I've never dated anyone as great as you. And that 'best friend' of yours? She didn't deserve someone like you either."
She bit her lip, and looked at me. "You really know how to make someone feel better, don't you?" She asked. "No..not really actually. I've never been good at making people feel better. Especially when they cry." "Well you don't have to worry about that with me. I don't know if you've noticed..but I'm filled with anger." She smiled at me, while she got up, heading towards the kitchen. "Where are you going?" I asked. She looked over her shoulder. "Well aren't you hungry?" I raised my eyebrows. "Starving, actually." She brought back some chips and drinks. I was rubbing my shoulder, thats the only spot where the drunk guy managed to hit me. "What's wrong?" She asked. "Nothing..my shoulder just hurts." I replied, still looking down at it. She came and sat next to me. "Here let me see." "No..I'm fine.." "Sharad!! Come on.." "Fine..." I said. She unbuttoned the first three buttons on my shirt and pulled it to the side, so she saw my shoulder. "Oh my god...its all purple and bruised. She gently brushed her fingers against it. "Here, I have this cream that you can put on it, it'll feel better." "No Divyanka..I'm fine, really." She got up. "No you're not. You got hurt because of me. This is the least I can do. She got the cream from a drawer, and sat back down, applying it, while blowing on it slowly. I don't know why...but I had this weird feeling rush through my body as I felt she blew. I was staring at Divyanka the whole time. She was so...pretty. She finished and sat up to look at me. I quickly snapped out of my trance. "Thanks." "No problem." I reached for one of the drinks she brought. "So...what do you want to do? I'm not sleepy at all." "Neither am I." she said. We were silent for a moment, and then she exclaimed, with a big smile, "I got it! I'll be right back." She headed to the kitchen...and then, all of a sudden, I remembered my 'plan.' The one about me making Divyanka fall for me. I felt..so bad. I mean...she turned out to be one of the coolest friends I ever had. And the fact that she was a girl, wow. Me, and just friends with a girl? Never thought I'd see that day. She really..changed me. I don't want to lose her---as a friend, of course.
Divyanka came back, with a bunch of food and stuff in her hands, and set it on the coffee table. Then she sat down facing me. I sat up straight, and let out a "half-laugh." "What's all this?" I asked, staring at it. "We're gonna play truth or dare." she replied, flashing me a "Please?" smile. "Okay...well lets get started then." I said. She got excited. "Okay, well, you go first. Truth or dare? "Dare." I replied. "Okay. You have to, take this pickle, & dip it in honey..and eat it." She said, & looked up at me, seeing whether or not I could do it. I closed my eyes, and took a bite of it. I wanted to spit it out, but, I had to prove I could do it. And I swallowed. She raised an eyebrow. "Wow. I didnt think you'd do it." "I'm full of surprises." Then, she asked for a dare. I took a large spoon, and poured hot sauce in it. "Drink this." She took it, and drank it, as if it was water. And, it didn't seem to be spicy to her at all. "That wasn't spicy..at all?" I asked her. "Nope," she said, crossing her legs on the sofa. "I love spicy food." It went on like that for a while, and then she asked for truth. I decided to mess with her.
"Ok. What do you think of me. Not like personality wise...looks wise." I asked, looking up at her, flashing a smile. "That's for me to know...and you to..not know?" she looked at me, hoping I wouldn't weasle it out of her. "No.." I raised an eyebrow at her."You have to tell me.." She sighed, and looked down at her hands. "Well...lets put it this way. When I first got here, I thought, there's alot of cute guys here. But..no hot guys. Except..for you." She said, looking up at me. Inside, I was like...freaking out. But all that came out was, "Well, I can't blame you. I mean, look at me." I said, holding my hands up in the air. She threw a pillow at me, laughing. "Oh..I see how it is." And thats when the pillow fight started.

Divyanka's POV again
I woke up, and tucked my hair behind my ear. I realized I was leaning on Sharad's shoulder all night. I looked at him, and smiled. I had to admit, he was cute, even when he was sleeping. I didn't want to wake him, but I couldn't help myself. I poked his shoulder. Nothing. I poked his cheek. Nothing. I sighed, and got up to brush my teeth, and shower. After I came, back, dressed, he was still knocked out the couch. I looked at the clock. it was 11.
I went over to him, and shook him. "Sharad...wake up.." I said, quietly. I sat down on the couch, and all of a sudden, he grabbed me and pulled me on top of him, but his eyes were still closed. "Baby...no..let me sleep..." he mumbled. I was freaking out. What was he doing?!??! Calm down Divyanka..he's probably just dreaming..wait. What am I still doing on him?! Get off! I tried, but his grip was too tight. All of a sudden, he opened his eyes. And then he stared wide eyed at me. I let out a fake laugh. "Uh...good morning...?" His grip on me loosened, and I got up, while he sat up on the sofa, scrubbing his eyes.
"This is a very awkward question...but uhm...what..what happened? I mean..we were kinda.." He looked up at me, and his cheeks were slightly red. I bit my lip. "Well..uh..I got up, and got dressed and everything..and I saw you were still sleeping. So I tried waking you up..and then you kinda like..grabbed me..I guess you were just dreaming.." I couldn't make eye contact with him. He ran a hand though his hair. "Oh..I'm sorry..I didn't even realize it." He seemed to be avoiding looking at me too. "I--I should probably go now...gotta get dressed and all." he said, grabbing his jacket. "Uh..okay then. I'll walk you to the door." I said, following him. He stepped out, and was facing me.
"Before you go, I just wanted to say, thanks. I mean, thanks for staying with me last night." I said, smiling. "No problem." he replied. I closed the door, and leaned against it. "Oh my god. What just happened here?" I said, to myself. I shook my head, and opened the fridge.
Sharad's POV again
As I walked to my dorm, I thought about what happened. How, no WHY did I do that!? I mean, last night, we were talking about being such good friends and all...and now, its gonna be so awkward. What was I dreaming about anyway!? Oh god...I hope I didn't say anything. I opened my dorm, and fell down on my bed.

(The next day in class, Divyanka's POV now)
I walked into class, and sat down next to Rimi. I wasn't so sure if I wanted to tell her about what happened..(at the party, and after that) "Hey Diva!" she said, and turned to face me. "Hey! When are you coming back to the dorm?" I asked, holding my head up with my fist. "Uh...well you see..." her voice trailed off as she looked down. All of a sudden, I couldn't stop smiling. "Sameer..right?" I asked. She smiled at me. "Ohmygosh thanks so much for understanding!" she said. "No problem girly." I replied, with that smile still glued on my face.
Sharad walked in, and the only empty seat was right behind me. I was trying to avoid looking at him in the eye but it happened. I half smiled at him, as he sat down. Mr. Gola walked in and put the questions on the board, for us to copy and solve. As I was working, Sharad passed me a note. I checked to make sure no one was looking at me, and I took it. It read,
"Hey...I'm sorry about what happened this morning..pls don't let that make things awkward between us.."
I turned around, and put my hand on his. "Don't worry. I won't." I whispered. "Is that something you would like to share with the class, Ms. Tripathi?" Mr. Gola asked, looking up from his book. I quickly turned around. "Uhhh..no..." "Very well then." Class seemed to drag on and on, and then the bell finally rang. I let out a sigh of relief, and headed to the cafeteria. Sharad caught up with me. "Hey..so are we absolutely cool?" he asked, putting a hand in his pocket. "Yeah..yeah totally." "So...are you doing anything tonight." I shook my head no. "Well...do you want to come over to my dorm? We can just...hang out." he asked, as we headed to a table, and sat down. I bit my lip. "Let's....go somewhere." I said, looking up at him.
"Yeah, ok. Where?" he asked, taking a bite of his sandwich."Uh...I know! Let's go to that club that everyone usually hangs at!" I said. "Uh..okay! I'll pick you up at say...7ish?" I nodded.
--
I was going through my closet, looking for something to wear. I found a black dress, and paired it with black heels. Oh...how I love the color black. (Dress--https://static.my-wardrobe.com/images/products/1/9/198315/l_198315.jpg) (Heels--https://www.retro-shoes.co.uk/images/sexy-stiletto-shoes.jpg) Just then, I heard the door bell ring. I wasn't ready, so I yelled, "Come in!" Sharad walked in, as I walked out the bedroom. "Well, what do you think?" I asked. He looked at me up and down. "You look....wow!" I smiled, as we drived over there.
As we walked in, alot of people stared at us. I ignored it, and we found a couch to sit on. "You know...this isnt the best place to be.." he said, looking around. "Sharad. Don't worry about me. Nothing will happen here." I said. He looked at me, and saw some guy heading over to us. He put his arm around me, and pulled me close. The guy walked away. "What did I tell you?" I looked down. "I just...I just wanted to get my mind off of everything. With college...and the whole Ranbir thing..that I'm not fully over yet..I don't know."
He grabbed my hand, and got up. "Let's go." he said. "Where?" I asked. "I don't know...but, do you really want to stay here?" He asked me. I looked down at my outfit. "Well...I'm kinda over-dressed to go anywhere casual.." He gave me a reassuring look. "I have just the place.
--
He took me to a restaurant, and after we ate, we were just walking around the city. There was a wishing well/fountain near by. I walked up to it. He laughed. "Do you really believe in these types of things?" I turned around. "Not at all actually...but it would be nice if these things actually worked. I threw a coin in, and opened my eyes, smiling. Sharad was standing next to me. "So..what did you wish for?" I looked down, and then back up at him. "Well, if I tell you, it won't come true. And I can't risk that." I turned around, and kept walking, as he joined me.
-
We drove back to the dorms. And he walked me to mine. I stopped at my door, searching for my key in my bag. I found it, and put it in the keyhole, and sort of left it there, to face Sharad. "Well...umm...thanks. For, making tonight so much fun." I looked into his eyes. He gazed back at me, and replied, "No problem." Although we kinda already exchanged our good-byes, neither of us made a move. I think we both sort of stepped too close to each other, since our bodies were touching. I looked at his eyes, then his lips, then back at his eyes. Then, I snapped out of it, and stepped back. "Uhh, well, we should probably get some sleep." He ran a hand through the back of his hair. "Right...good night." And he walked away, as I stepped into my dorm, and sat down on the couch. No, I told myself. I CAN'T do this. And from then, I decided, we would only be strictly good friends. I can't risk sending him any mixed signals.
