No that is duhaai...duhaai means request if I am not wrong!?

Actually ikai (1), dahai (10), senkda (100)...... is used while teaching number system (in Hindi medium atleast) to young kids.

What system is used in Marathi, Tamil, Bengali, Assamese, Oriya, Kannada, Telugu, Malyalam and other Indian languages? Anyone?

In Indian English following are used generally....

One

Ten

Hundred

Thousand

Lakh

Crore

Billion

So even in Indian English Lakh and Crore are there.

That's 'cause we're unique and I'm proud of our numeric system. It was developed before others. The Arabs took the numerical system from us and stole all the credit, eventually it passed through the Spaniards, Portuguese and eventually came to England and America. So, our number system is very original.I don't see what's confusing. I feel it's pretty starightforward. Also, if you find this confusing, I wonder what you'll think of the Arabic system.
