Vidya as she was still in pain looked up at Sagar as he continued laughing. Sagar saw her looking up at him in anger and kneeled down and sat right in front of her. Vidya saw his beautiful smile and instead of punching him on his face smiled as an idea popped into her head. She stretched out her legs looking at her heels and said, "You said something about positive reinforcement. I think I know what will motivate me."

Sagar raised a brow eager to learn what would motivate Vidya. Vidya smiled and said, "You would motivate me Sagar. If I walk perfectly in these heels I get to inflict pain upon you!"

Sagar's first reaction was a laugh but when he noticed that Vidya was dead serious he stopped laughing. "You can't be serious Vidya," he asked hoping that she wasn't.

Vidya got up from her spot and tried to balance herself and said "I am serious. If I can walk on these heels successfully, I will get to punch you in your guts. That is one hell of a motivator."

Sagar thought it through and considered the possibilities. He looked towards her hands and thought they couldn't hurt that bad. A punch by a girl couldn't hurt that bad. "Alright Vidya, it's a deal!" Vidya smiled as she shook Sagar's hand and guessed how many times she was going to fall on her butt before she had the opportunity to punch Sagar in his guts.

After hours of practicing and falling down Vidya walked on those heels as if she were barefoot. She jumped in joy before walking towards Sagar as he stood in one of the corners sipping from a coke can. Sagar had to admit Vidya got the hang of it pretty quickly. He was quite proud and also happy that if she took little time adjusting to heels she will not take that long to learn dancing. Vidya stood right in front of Sagar as she smiled and said "According to the deal, I get to punch you in your guts."

Sagar smiled as he put his coke down and opened both of his arms and looking right at Vidya said "Give me your best shot!" Vidya smiled because she intended to give it her best shot. She made a fist and punched him right in his stomach. Sagar grabbed his stomach as he cursed after being punched. For a girl, Vidya had one hell of a punch. Sagar ko us ski nani yaad ah gayi. Vidya laughed seeing his reaction and turned to walk away. She was caught by surprise when Sagar caught her by her ponytail and pulled. She didn't even have enough time to react before her back hit Sagar's chest. She felt his breath on her neck as he looked over her shoulder towards her face. Vidya fought the urge to elbow him in his stomach. She went for the usual instead and shouted "What the hell Sagar? Let me go! It was part of the deal. That punch was justifiable."

Sagar laughed and let go of her hair to turn her around. Vidya stared in shock as she bumped into Sagar again. But this time she was staring right into his eyes and their faces were only inches apart. Vidya kept staring at him unaware of what he was up to. But this time she was not the only one staring. She noticed that Sagar was staring at her too. Before her thoughts wandered elsewhere, she saw Sagar's hand coming towards her face. Sagar traced a finger over Vidya's eyebrow and said "You have never plucked you eyebrows, have you?"

Vidya shook her head and said "Why do you care?" Sagar backed away as he started walking towards the door. He grabbed her by her arm and pulled her along and said "If you are going to be my lady at the ball, you are going to look hot!" He turned around to look at her and said "It might take a lot of work. But I am hoping it is possible." Sagar still held her arm as they walked across the lawn. She had to admire his guts. Even after being punched he still had the courage to insult her with his sarcastic remarks. She wondered where he was going to take her now.

Vidya was yet in another fancy car that belonged to Sagar. He sat in the backseat beside her as she was busy looking out of the window. It was a beautiful city, she thought as she blew a bubble from the gum she was chewing. Just as she did that she heard Sagar shouting, "Can you chew any louder, Vidya?"

Vidya turned around as she continued chewing her gum and asked "What is wrong with the way I chew the gum? It's just like everybody else."

"No, it's not! You chew the gum like a cow and on top of that you have to blow the freaking bubble so loud."

Vidya smiled as she blew another bubble and asked "Does it annoy you, Sagar?"

He knew that if he said yes she was going to be louder so he said "No." But Vidya saw the look on his face and knew that he was lying and it was obvious that it bothered him so much. She said "Okay" and stopped chewing the gum for a few seconds and Sagar felt some peace. Vidya saw him taking a deep breath and moved closer to his ear and blew one loud bubble. Sagar closed his eyes and screamed in frustration. The driver looked through the rear view mirror and wondered what was going on. Vidya laughed and threw her head back on the seat seeing Sagar's reaction. Sagar saw her laughing and in ordering tone said "Spit the gum out." Vidya raised a brow and flatly refused and said "How dare you tell me what to do?"

Sagar didn't care what she was saying and ordered again telling her to spit out her gum. Vidya again flatly refused. Sagar never adjusted well to a "NO!" He grabbed her by her jaw and forced her to look at him and ordered again "Spit it out!" If Sagar was stubborn, Vidya was also very stubborn. She simply shook her head and said "What you gonna do if I don't, take it out with your hands?"

Sagar leaned in as he smirked and said "I could also use my mouth!" Vidya's eyes widened hearing that as she saw that he looked pretty serious. She immediately opened her mouth and spit out the gum. Sagar closed his eyes as the gum hit his face and then fell onto the floor of the car. He opened his eyes as he wiped his face from where the gum hit him and looked at Vidya as she laughed.

So he brought her to a fancy spa. She sat on the chair in front of the mirror and looked at all the items and wondered what they were going to be doing to her face. Sagar ordered a chair and sat near Vidya because he wanted a say in what he wanted Vidya to look like. Maybe he should have told her that he was planning on getting her a haircut, he thought as one of the beauticians came and looked ready to pluck Vidya's eyebrows.

When the first hair got pulled Vidya screamed in pain as she slapped the beauticians hand away. Vidya rubbed her skin from where the hair was pulled as she looked into the mirror to make sure that she didn't bleed. Sagar saw her reaction and said "Stop being a drama queen! I am sure it doesn't hurt that bad!" He looked at the beautician and grinned as the beautician blushed. Vidya grabbed the tweezers out the beautician's hands and as Sagar was still busy grinning and not paying attention to Vidya at all, she plucked a hair off his arm. Sagar looked at Vidya as he shouted "OUCH!" Vidya laughed as she turned back around in her chair and said "Stopped being a drama king! It doesn't hurt that bad!"

Sagar shook his head and walked out of the room and just outside the door gave instructions on how he wanted Vidya's hair to get cut and what kind of facial she should get and everything else he could think about. He hoped that when he got back he would be pleased with what he saw.

Smart Vidya...Sagar has proven to be smart...but Vidya is not far behind...hehe...good punch....

You know what...there's a similarity between Sagar and me...he doesn't like it when someone chews gum really loudly and neither do I...wow, I never thought that there'd be something similar between 'Mr I'll-always-get-what-I-want-even-if-I-don't-need-it'.

Hmm...I wonder how the supposed makeover is gonna turn out? I;m sure Vidya will look great...but will she like it though??

Sagar walked away thinking that bringing Vidya to the salon better be worth it. He shook his head when he turned and saw Vidya slapping away the beautician's hand again. He had no idea where he was going but he assumed that being away from Vidya at the moment would be best. He walked out and saw a coffee shop nearby. He decided to get some coffee. He sat at the table sipping his coffee staring out of the window. The city was always pretty around this time of the year. He smiled as some memories came back but then his smile faded. He looked down towards the cup and thought about the ring that was left under his pillow. Then he thought about Radha. He closed his eyes as he brushed his hair back from his tensed forehead and sighed. Why was this happening to him? Why did Radha have to come into the picture? He thought to himself and then cleared his head as he took another sip. He was not going to let his past or what his future might hold ruin his present. He was there to steal a very expensive necklace and he was going to be happy when he lived that adventure, even though Vidya was the one who was going to be living the adventure. Vidya, he liked that name, he decided. He smiled every time he thought about her. She was very different from any woman he had met. There wasn't anything too special about her. Yet, he smiled every time he thought about her. He kept smiling and decided it was because of her stupid bathroom singing and tapori manners. That is what made him smile. He convinced himself and continued enjoying his coffee.

Vidya had had enough. She was lying back on one of the chairs as the lady shampooed her hair. She enjoyed the shampooing and the head message she received. But when it got to the hair cut the enjoyment was over. The lady did not even ask Vidya and chopped a good amount of Vidya's hair. Vidya's jaw dropped as she saw the hair on ground and then she grabbed her hair which was a little bit below her shoulders. Vidya then looked at the lady and shouted "What the hell? I wanted my hair to be pretty and long as Sanju's and you cut it this short?" The lady just stared back in confusion and a little bit fear as Vidya looked like she was ready to kill. Vidya got up from the chair and shouted again "Why would you cut my hair?" The lady blinked and told Vidya that it was Sagar's order. Sagar was a dead man! Vidya was going to kill him. What was done was done; her hair could not be put back together. She sighed and decided to complete the rest of the scheduled appointments. She was particularly looking forward to the facial and the make-up. She wanted to look pretty when she killed Sagar, in case newspapers and the cops wanted to take her pictures. She sat back on the chair and asked the lady to finish her hair.

Sagar came back and sat in the lobby waiting for Vidya. He would rather wait there then go in and have Vidya pluck another arm hair. He was busy reading a magazine when she walked out. For a minute he didn't recognize her and went back to reading but then suddenly lifted his head again because he recognized Vidya's Kurta and those worn out jeans. For a moment he didn't know how to react. Her hair was shorter but let loose with a side bang. Her eyebrows looked perfect and she had the most subtle touch of cosmetics, which brought out her gorgeous eyes. Why hadn't he noticed those beautiful eyes before? He thought as he got up from his chair. If he wasn't mistaking, Sagar's heart skipped a beat or two when Vidya started walking towards him. "That was weird," he thought as she came and stood right in front of him.

"Are you happy now?" she asked him with an angry look.

He cleared his throat and shook his head. "I still don't like your loose Kurta and those ugly jeans." He smiled when he saw the anger in her eyes.

She took a deep breath and decided acting out in a public place would not be wise because there would people around who could help Sagar. She would attack him when there is no one around.

Sagar noticed her thinking and asked "What are you thinking?"

Vidya smiled in return. "I want the shampoo that lady used on my head. It smells really good. Can you buy it for me?"

He smiled and moved towards the counter where he could pay for the services and buy shampoo for Vidya. Vidya stood in the back looking at her perfect manicure and thought "Why did I never get manicures before? He is really spoiling me."

They sat in the backseat of the car again. Vidya was busy looking out the window while Sagar stared at her in disbelief. How could a little bit of make-up and a hair cut make such a difference. Or had she been this beautiful all along and he hadn't paid any attention. He sighed when he saw Vidya take up a hand and put her hair behind her ear. He was in trouble. Sagar knew that. He was definitely starting to feel something for Vidya. He couldn't, he told himself and tried to look away from her. But within seconds he was looking back at her.

Vidya turned around and saw Sagar looking at her. Only this time, it was a different look. He had never looked at her this way before. She looked back into his beautiful eyes and wondered what he was thinking. She could drown in those beautiful eyes if she looked too long. She decided to clear her throat and said "I am going to kill you when we get back home. I thought it might be nice to give you a warning."

Sagar laughed and asked "Thanks for the warning but why would you want to kill me?"

She grabbed her hair pointing it towards him. "Because of this, you told the lady to chop off my hair!"

Sagar grabbed her hair rolling it around his fingers and tugged. Vidya was surprised as she bumped into Sagar with their faces only inches apart. He smiled and said "I would like you with longer hair. I didn't ask her to chop off your hair. I only asked her to give you a bang." Proving his point he used his other hand to move her bang away from her forehead while the other hand held on to rest of her hair tugging her closer to him.

Vidya had never been this close to a man before. She looked towards his lips and then back into his eyes. He only smiled making her more nervous. She could pull back any moment, she very well knew that. But a part of her didn't want to.

He saw the confusion in her eyes and her flushed cheeks. He knew that Vidya was attracted to him from the moment she set her eyes on him. But this was the first time he had felt attracted towards her. "You are beautiful, Vidya." He said as he traced a lazy finger down her cheek and her jaw line. She closed her eyes as her heartbeat fastened beyond her control. He saw her closed eyes and her beautiful lips. He could kiss her. Oh, he wanted to and if it were any other girl he would have. But this was Vidya. He couldn't. She was not like any other girl he had been with. He took a hold of himself and backed away letting her hair go.

Vidya slowly opened her eyes and saw Sagar sitting next to her as if nothing happened. She brought an unsteady hand up to her chest and felt her racing heartbeat and wondered if Sagar felt anything or was he just teasing her again. If he was going to pretend like nothing happened, Vidya was also going to pretend like nothing happened. After all, she did have a big ego just like his.

Vidya sat in her room watching a movie on one of the big TV's in front of her and thought about her day. It was a pretty decent day. She learned to walk in heels, she got her hair chopped off, and she almost killed Sagar. Well, she thought she would kill Sagar but why did he have to be so darn good looking. She shook her head as she muttered "Those big googly eyes. If it weren't for them, he would be dead." She rested back on the pillows and continued watching her movie.

Sagar was in his room busy with his notebook buying ballroom dancing music online. He wanted to be prepared tomorrow when they started rehearsing. He thought about the rehearsal and the dance steps and smiled. They would require Vidya to come very close to him, wouldn't they? He would certainly enjoy that but then again, he was trying to stay away from Vidya. Getting interested in her would be a big mistake and he was not going to go down that path. She had never been in a relationship before. She would expect a serious relationship, which he was not ready for and perhaps could never be. His relationship with women was purely physical. It was a done deal between both parties. No strings attached. But Vidya, he could never do that to her. He didn't want to. He wanted better things for. He didn't know why he cared so much. He shook his head wondering if taking Vidya to the salon was a bad idea, maybe he should have took her to the salon on the day of the ball itself. His thoughts were disturbed when he heard a loud scream. He looked towards the clock and it was past eleven. He got out of bed and ran out of his room wondering why Vidya screamed. He knew it couldn't be the servants because all of them left at nine according to their schedule. It was only Vidya and him in the big house.

He opened the door and saw Vidya covering her face with the pillow as the room was dark and the TV light was the only light in the room. She brought down the pillow and looked at the TV and screamed again. Sagar shook his head. A scary movie, she was watching a scary movie and he worried for nothing. He turned on the lights and Vidya threw away the pillow and smiled. "Sagar, what are you doing here?" Sagar walked closer looking at the TV and said "I heard you screaming! Is this movie really that scary?"

"Yeah," Vidya replied thanking God that Sagar came over to the room or else she might have died from fear. Sagar sat at the end of the bed looking at the TV. It wouldn't be wise to sit next to Vidya when she looked that scared. If another scary scene came, she might jump at him and Sagar is not one to let go of opportunities. So he thought he would simply prevent opportunities. He looked around and took notice of the room. He was in Suraj's room. It had been awhile since Sagar had been in that room. He looked around and saw the posters and smiled. Suraj had made changes to his room. Sagar turned his head and looked towards the night table and wondered where the small plane that used to be there went. That plane had been a gift from Sagar and Suraj had loved it.

Vidya saw Sagar examining the room and smiled. "It has been a long time since you have been in this room, hasn't it?"

Sagar stopped examining the room and looked at Vidya. She had braided her hair but it failed to keep all her hair in place. Her loose hair covered her ears and some of her forehead. She had washed her face and there were no cosmetics but she still looked radiant. She was wearing a loose white shirt. Sagar wondered what kind of figure Vidya had, she always wore loose clothes. It was impossible to tell and he was getting curious. Vidya saw him thinking and whistled waving her hand. He snapped out and smiled. "Yeah, it has been a long time."

Vidya grabbed one of the pillows to put in her lap and said "Can I tell you something Sagar?" Sagar looking curious said "ah, sure!"

"Suraj, your brother, he seems like an awesome brother." Sagar smiled as he turned towards Vidya and said "Oh yeah? How do you know?"

Vidya giggled and said "I found bunch of wrapped presents in his cabinet addressed to you." Sagar laughed and said "Yeah. They are my birthday presents. He gets me one every year but I refuse to open them and return them to him."

Vidya's jaw dropped as she could not believe her ears and said "How rude!"

Sagar raised a brow and said "And going through someone's stuff without their permission is not rude at all"

Vidya shrugged and said "You can't place a thief in a room like this and expect that no snooping is going to be done. Besides, I think you should open those presents." Vidya was about to get up when Sagar shouted "No! Then he will know I opened them."

Vidya looked confused and asked "So?" She got up from the bed and Sagar rose to stop her and said "Vidya, I am not going to open them." But she kept walking and said "Fine. If you are not going to open them, I will!" She was walking towards the cabinet when Sagar from the back grabbed her arm and asked her to stop in an ordering tone. Vidya never settled well with orders. It wasn't about the presents anymore. It was a clash of the egos now. She pulled her arm away and took another step. Sagar grabbed her from her shoulders and Vidya elbowed him in his stomach. In a way that was the pay back for her hair being chopped off. Sagar grunted in pain as he grabbed his stomach but he would not give up. Vidya saw him coming and tripped him. He fell on the hardwood floor and saw stars. But he would not lose. Before Vidya could move he grabbed her ankle and pulled her to the ground. When Vidya fell down beside him he quickly moved over her. Before Vidya had the opportunity to scratch his face he grabbed her arms and pinned her down.
