P A R T 4
So the very first thing that Samrat did was to ask Gunjan for the party, when he still had the courage to do so though he thought that she might not come for the party with him. And by now he had hallucinating things. He had been started thinking that there is someone else who is gonna ask Gunjan to come for the party and if he reaches first then Gunjan will surely say yes to him and give preference to that "someone else" rather than going to the party with him.
As fast as he could he ran to the college and started searching for her. But to his bad luck she was no where to be found. Samrat thought that she might come to the classes and then he will ask her. But Gunjan did not even attend the classes that day. "Did you find a date?" RV inquired Samrat though he knew very well that he didnt. "Not yet. " he said "but i m working on it"
After the classes Samrat tried to inquire few other girls who had acquaintances with Gunjan. At first he thought that Gunjan might be at home, but later he came to know that she was in the college itself with Ms Tamanna, discussing things, who is responsible for all the curricular activities that take place in the college specially talent parade, drama and such.
Samrat went to speak to her but they were having some private talk. He waited for her for 10 minutes and when she finally came out, she was surprised to see Samrat waiting for her.
"Samrat?" she said as she held the sheet with the list of participants "this is a surprise!" Gunjan was glad to see everyone, but she was startled to see Samrat at the present "have you been running? you've sweat clean thru ur shirt"
"Oh" he looked at his shirt "thats nothing i sweat a lot sometimes," he tried to lie "anyways wud you mind sitting for a while with me in the canteen"
"Thats okay, but whats the problem... i have never seen you come to others and say hello" she inquired. Samrat felt offended but it was not her fault, she said it right. He somehow managed to take her to the canteen, though check all the corners to see no one is watching at him, gather the courage once again, but not for long and said "Its such a beautiful day"
"Sure it is .." she smiled
"A little warm too...." he continued.
"Did u bring me over here to discuss the weather?" she asked him
"Not really."
"Then?"
The time came to speak the truth "well i actually....wanted to knw if u r going for the freshers party"
"Oh...freshers party" she spoke as if she is unaware of any such thing.
"I hadnt plan of going" she finally said
"But if someone asked u to go, will u?"
"I might go... i m not sure though... i might go if i get a chance ...i have never been to parties b4" she said after a long time.
"They r really fun...u shud..." he just spoke and she smiled. Just one day ago Samrat did not even imagine himself thinking abt this but here he suddenly spoke those magic words
"Wud u like to go to the party with me?"
Gunjan was almost surprised. Instead of answering right away she took a while. Samrat started getting sinking feeling in the stomach bcos he thought that she wud say no. His mother, cleaning pukes and his friends....everything started coming in front of his eyes. All of a sudden he regretted the way he behaved with her all these years, teasing her, and calling names at her back. But a minute later she turned and faced him again. "I wud love to go with you" she finally said. "But i have a condition"
"Yes?" Samrat said as he waited for the last step
"You will have to promise that we will be at home by 11pm"
"Was she joking? do parties get over by 11pm?" Samrat thought. But it was not his day, he cud atleast do this for her. He breathe a sigh of relief and agreed.
*The Day of Freshers Party*
The day finally arrived when everyone was eager to join the party with their date. Samrat for once thought that change is good but did not expect much out of the party since nothing was happening according to what he had expected. According to him Gunjan was pretty much the only one who had not been to the parties and he thought maybe she dont know to dance as well.
He also had some concerns of what she will be wearing in the party. Normally she wears those pastel colour salwar suits with her ordinary specs, sometimes in plats or a pony or hair left completely lose. But he decided not to interfere with such thing. Only he didnt wanted her to become a fool in front of others specially his friends. Less he knew that she never cared or say mind about such stuff.
One thing was sure, he didnt want her to wear same old stuff she had been wearing since two yrs in the college. Bcos parties r something special. Girls and boys buy new dresses and suits. He was lucky in one thing, his friends did not stalk at what was going on with him. RV was busy as usual trying to impress Sheena whose dreams were beyond heaven, but RV never gave up. And Neil...starting of a new relationship with Ash?
*Before Freshers Party*
The night finally came and Samrat was dressed in a black suit. He went to pick up Gunjan at 8 pm. As he knocked the door, she, as always opened it with a smile. For once Samrat had to admit that Gunjan looked beautiful. She was wearing a bright red colour salwar suit with small ear tops. But he regretted her hair tied in bun.
"If only she'd left them lose like at college" he said to himself. But that was the last thing he wanted to say. He however thought that she might still look under dressed in front of other girls at the party.
"So wud u like to come in?" she asked.
"No we shud probably go...we are getting late" He replied. He was in a hurry, he didnt wanted to miss the party since they will be returning soon as promised to Gunjan.
Samrat opened the door of the car for her and walked on the other side and got in as well. Soon they reached Excel.
NOTES: guys sorry for not updating yesterday..i was really feeling low..i did write half part on word and half i wrote now. though i thought to include the party in this part but it was getting longer and i was getting bored.... will write the party in the next part mostly on wednesday.
And yes i wanted to ask u guys... do u have any clue abt the "Someone Special" i have talked abt in the intro?? I want to see wht u guys come out with :)
