President Punjab Cultural and Heritage Board, Charan Singh Sapra says, "The problem in Dil Bole Hadippa is that in the promo, instead of a dot on the letter I in the word Haddippa they have shown a small Sikh boy's turban falling on it. That is our main objection. Now Yash Chopra has said that their promos change every week, so promos from Sunday will be changed, and they will remove everything that we find objectionable. The new posters and everything will have the changed look."
While YRF has also confirmed through an email that "all concerns were suitably addressed", this may just be the start of problems for the producers of Dil Bole Hadippa, since Rani Mukerji also disguises herself as a sardar in the film to enter a cricket team and Rani's look might just irk the board once again.
While the board is waiting for the post-production on the film to be completed before they take any action on it, they have also objected to a scene from the upcoming film Kisaan and sent a legal notice to Sohail Khan Productions.
Charan Singh Sapra says, "Yes we are also getting a lot of phone calls for the film Kisaan, in which there is a scene where the turban has been thrown on the floor. We have sent them a notice and have done our bit. Now if they don't reply, we will take the legal route."
Meanwhile, actor-producer Sohail Khan says, "See when you see a clip or promo of the film, you can say anything, but when you see the entire film, you will see the difference. I don't want to hurt anybody's sentiments. I have in fact glorified the community. Like in other films, I have not made fun of anyone."
Meanwhile, Yashraj Films may be in the Cultural Board's line of fire again soon for it's forthcoming Rocket Singh Salesman of the Year featuring Ranbir Kapoor as a young sardar.
