April 14, 2009 Written Update

Shitij and the betiyaan wonder how Balwant Chawda (BC) got hold of their business. They decide to keep this from Baa and the others, till they find out more about BC. At the house, Sav gives an astrologer, Gauri's picture and asks him to find a groom for her. After he leaves, Shitij and the rest return home. Sav and Menka are confused seeing Shitij hurt, and when they ask abt it, Saras lies, although Sav suspects something wrong. In their room, Shitij tries calling several ppl to find out abt BC, and he learns that BC is a dangerous guy and that cricket is his weakness. He tells the girls that BC hates to lose in cricket, and that one day when a guy beat him in a game, BC took the bat and beat the guy to death and that he is also involved in black marketing etc. The girls are horrified hearing this. Later Niyati gets labor pains and is rushed to the hospital. Menka is excited and certain that Niy will have a son, but the girls bet that it will be a daughter. Menka is upset when the doc comes out with the news that Niy gave birth to a girl. All go in to see the baby. Sav holds the baby and assures everyone that things will get better now with the addition of this new little member into their family.

When Menka refuses to hold the baby, Sav tries explaining to her that the most imp thing is a child's upbringing and not whether it's a boy or a girl and that it's far better to have good natured daughter than an obstinate and ill mannered son. Menka is moved when Sav points out how Yuv's daughter looks just like him. Menka holds the baby and wishes Yuv were here. Gauri suggests naming the baby Pratiksha, and Saras suggests the name Iccha as her pet name. All are glad and agree with the choices of names. Sav decides to have a grand function to celebrate the birth of Pratiksha (Iccha). Shitij and the girls worry how to handle BC and they decide to meet the guy. Gauri overhears their conversation and extends her support to them. Later all of them go to BC's house to meet him. They read the sign "Cats and Ladies Not allowed" on his gate and wonder why he hates women. But they go in anyway. The guard doesn't allow them in, stating that BC hates women and they aren't allowed in. Shitij tries convincing the guy, but just then one of BC's men comes out to talk to them. They hear BC inside the house shouting and threatening to kill someone, and this worries the girls and they assume the worst, while actually BC is inside screaming at the television watching his team lose in cricket, and he breaks the TV cuz he loses his bet of 5 lacs. Shitij and the girls look on petrified hearing the crashing sound inside.
