Santo has lost the cow she treated like a mother ..
And the person who interrupts, Hiten, is seething in anger because of his MOTHER's place being taken by Santo ..
All in all, the scene was a very good way to show the connection of three people who have lost their mothers.. and what their mothers meant to them .. DM feels for Santo because he knows what losing a mother means.. and on the same hand, Hiten does not care for anyone else but his mother... I thought it was a beautiful way to show how important mothers are ..
