I was just watching yesterday's entire week back to back episodes and when they showed the 'diya' scene where DM stops M-ben from insulting Santo and gives her the diya with the ghee ...

Remember the dialogue he says -

"Maine yeh tere liye nahi .. teri mawdi ke liye kiya"

On the other hand,
Santo has lost the cow she treated like a mother ..

And the person who interrupts, Hiten, is seething in anger because of his MOTHER's place being taken by Santo ..

All in all, the scene was a very good way to show the connection of three people who have lost their mothers.. and what their mothers meant to them .. DM feels for Santo because he knows what losing a mother means.. and on the same hand, Hiten does not care for anyone else but his mother... I thought it was a beautiful way to show how important mothers are ..

Yea intelligent, cool, zany, adorable....a complete package...just like RR. hehe. but anyways...

U know I wonder how come whenever DM and Santo interact Hiten comes there. It's as if Subhi has come out of the portrait and taken life in Hiten's body...and is getting mad at her hubby for actually talking to or having anything to do with Santo. It's as if Hiten is jealous for his mother....u know!! it' s weird.

Nice observation Sukhi.

Whether the Mahyavanshi's like it or not, accept it or not, Santu has taken the place of the children's mother by default when DM married her.

A mother will do anything to see that her children don't have any hardship/problems and do everything in their power to help them out. Let us see how Santu does that. Both her Mawdi and her stepson have been wronged - Mawdi by her stepson and her stepson by her husband. On the other side are angry gaon walas. What can she do? What will she do that will overturn DM's verdict and diffuse the gaon walas anger and make them back off?

Trust me - my imagination is running every which way on that subject and I have a very unusual scenario running through my mind right now.

I knoww .. even I am waiting for that scenario when Santo will look thru' DM's outer facade and decide that she just HAS to do something for Hiten ..

Now my mind is running wild with the scenarios...
Sukhi you're right here, the three of them are all connected through the fact that they all have lost their mother, and they will now how it feels... Which is why i think that Santu will be able to understand what Hiten is going through, why he's reacting the way he is, because she herself lost her mother... Two of them as a matter of fact...

Yea that was the most beautiful thing about the scene Mru ..

All three of them connected .. common bond ..

Well Santo will never be a 'mom' for Hiten .. but phir bhi...

I see the Santu Hiten relationship going in the Sita Lakshman direction more than the Krishna-yashodha one sukhi...
I dont know why, but DM-Hiten remind me more of an elder bro-younger bro relationship... Not saying anything lacking in the father-son duo.. They're great on screen together...
The only people I see Santu truly becoming a mother to are Suraj and Birwa.. And kads to some extent..
