Nach Baliye's Resshmi Ghosh turns Bengali heroine

After shaking a leg with her beau Amit on Nach Baliye 4, Resshmi Ghosh who played Bhoomi in Kyunki, will be seen in a Bengali film where she'll essay the role of Pandit Ravi Shankar's musician daughter Anoushka Shankar. She tells us about the movie.

"The movie is called Pa Ma Ga Re Sa. The story is based on the life of Pandit Ravi Shankar and his two daughters- Anoushka and Norah. It is based on the relationship and emotions he shares with them. It speaks about the relation between two sisters, then Anoushka's romantic relationship and covers other aspects of her life. It has a tinge of the old movie Abhimaan," informs Resshmi.
Elaborating on her character, she tells us, "I am playing the character of Anoushka who is a very simple girl. It is basically the story of her life and depicts how she learns music, how she meets her guy, the relation she shares with her sister and other emotional aspects. The name of the character has however not been decided".

Resshmi can't contain her excitement about her first Bengali film. "Amit also understands Bengali completely although he finds it a little difficult to speak. I am too excited as for the first time, he will be watching and hearing me speak in Bengali for the first time on screen," she laughs.

Ghosh was approached for this role when she was shooting for Nach Baliye 4. She says "I was approached by the director and it seems he had been looking out for me for this role. After I wrapped up with Nach Baliye 4, I went to my hometown Kolkatta to know more about the movie and now that I know what it is all about, I am doing it".

The Nach Baliye 4 girl says the character and the simple concept was what inspired her to take up this movie "I was always open to Bengali films as it's my mother tongue. Secondly, the story is very unique and makes good sense. I was actually looking out for something where I wanted to play a realistic and a parallel role and this had all the ingredients" quips the actress.

So, does this mean the lady will bid goodbye to the small screen?
"No, not all… I am not leaving television for sure. Although I will take up roles from Bollywood and would also look forward to do more of Bengali cinema, I will definitely continue to do television as well" clarifies the actress.

The movie is based on the real life relationship that Pandit Ravi Shankar shares with his daughters Anoushka Shankar and Norah Jones. The director of the movie is Surajit Dhar and it is produced by a group called 'Bunch of Buddies'. The other cast would include Nandana Sen who has been approached but the other cast members are not finalized as yet.

The major portion of the movie will be shot in Shillong with some scenes in Kolkatta. The actress will fly to Kolkatta at the beginning of March and the shooting will commence in mid-March.
