Maasa hurriedly comes home with Basanth. She calls out to everyone in the family saying she has really good news. Once everyone comes down, she tells that she is so happy her family name is getting higher and higher. She goes to Anandi and force-feeds (literally stuffs) her with sweets. She starts talking sarcastically about how she is so happy her family name is becoming more famous since Anandi has done so well in her exams. Everyone is shocked. Maasa starts yelling at Anandi that she is a liar. Suguna takes the blame on herself saying she insisted Anandi take the exam. Then Jagya does the same. Finally Bhairav tells his mother that Anandi agreed to write the exams upon his wish. Maasa gets really angry. She tells Bhairav that he has time until 6 pm to get Anandi's parents home. Anandi is crying inconsolably. Gehna is watching all this sadly.
Bhairav leaves sadly followed by Sumitra. Anandi is still crying a lot. Gehna watches all this and cries. Jagya goes to Maasa and tells her to not call Anandi's parents. It was all his fault. Daadisa says he was not to blame and that Anandi had plotted all this to make sure she keeps studying. Jagya asks her what was wrong in Anandi studying. Daadisa tells him that if the wife is sharper than the husband, then she would control the husband completely. Anandi would become like Gehna too. Jagya leaves. Gehna comes there and asks Maasa to not punish Anandi because she was angry with Gehna. She tells her that she had already told Basanth that she would not talk in front of outsiders. Maasa says that made no difference as she still had not apologized to Maasa
Gehna sadly apologizes to Maasa. Maasa taunts her and says that saying sorry in a room where there's no one is not going to be enough. Gehna had to apologize in front of everyone. Maasa gives her also time till 6pm.
