What Mahabharat did Ved Vyas compose?

On reading the epic Mahabharat, we find that Ved Vyas composed Mahabharat (penned down by Lord Ganesh).
Ved Vyas's disciple Vaishampayan recited the Mahabharat to king Janmejay and others present there.
Ugrasrava described the dialog between Vaishampayan and king Janmejay and also the stories behind how the dialog took place to the sages (headed by Saunak) in Naimish forest. Then somebody wrote down the dialog between Ugrasrava and the sages - this is the epic that we have now.
So the question is: -
What is the content of the Mahabharat that Ved Vyas composed?

Good Question👏. But...I don't know. It's definitely possible and probable that some of the information was changed or dramatized by many of these people when they were re-telling the story, but I'm sure that the main content or structure is same. For example, events like Kunti telling everyone Karna was her son after the war, Bhishma's famous vows, Draupadi's Swayamvara, Shri Krishna showing his Vishwa-Roop in the sabha in Hastinapura, the Bhagavad-Gita, the way in which all the Kauravas died, etc. were probably not changed in the extreme, b/c they were important, but tiny things may have been changed as the years passed.

I guess the "Original Mahabharat" as it is called, is probably Ved Vyas's Mahabharat, or if that too is a changed version, maybe the Mahabharat Ved Vyas wrote is still somewhere, undiscovered.

One Question: Do you know on what material Mahabharat and Ramayana were written on by Veda Vyasa and Mahamuni Valmiki, and with what type of writing utensil?

Obviously there were no books..or if they were written on leaves or wood or cloth, it's impossible that they survived so many millions of years...but there must be some source through which this invaluable information was passed on from generations to generations...
