Yes truly unheard as caberet songs are not that popular perhaps. But Ashaji has sung very well. Not many singers can replicate her or come close.
First n fourth songs a bit boring.
Second song is nice. Kaap rahi hu main (Joshila). The actress then were slightly overweight.
third song is beautiful and so is the actress, looks like Waheeda Rehman, great movements too "Jani dilbar jani"
Fifth song "Rangay Mehfil" has a very nice beat and tune.
Sixth song too is nice.

Ashaji's voice is truly unbelievable. "Jani dilbar jani" is the best

Dhadkan pal pal (Arjun)

lets start with this song. Can you imagine this song is nearly 7 minutes long primarily because of long interludes, those who play instruments would be impressed to no end, Bhanu Gupta told me (guitarist with Pancham) he was just playing the initial chord combination A minor/G Major/Fmajor in a break and RD asked him to keep playing and picked up another guitar and added few more chords on this. There is use of unusual drums and one octave piano called Kalimba in first interlude, also in 2nd and third interludes you listen to miscellanoeus instruments like matka, steel and western flute, several scales (hallmark of RDB and out of scene chords), song starts in a minor scale and keeps moving in and out of major scale.
Not difficult to imagine with the nature of music, climax is near and growing.

@ Anuradha

I am making a collection of non filmi classic songs by Asha ji that will impress you. Have you heard songs of Dil Padosi Hai (album worth million dollars made by Asha-Gulzar-Pancham trio)?

You can download them from cooltoadmusic.com

Wow that is interesting I notice the music has several variations. These songs have the additional task of having to cover part of the movie script which lends several challenges to the song and music writers.
