Actor Kiran Kumar has had a long career – in Bollywood, in Gujarati films and television. Albeit, it is on television where he has gained popularity and adulation. He has been a witness to the changes, and also has been a part of them. In a career spanning several decades, he's acted in over 200 Hindi films, more than 80 Gujarati films and also directed documentaries. "When I watch films like Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, it occurs to me that the film is a proof of the multifold efforts of a number of people, bearing fruit. A lot of movies today are a sign of evolution of the film industry," says Kiran. What are his views about the small screen? "The TRPs have changed the face of Indian television. They play a major role in how the script of a serial will change and what strategies will be employed by the channels and production houses. There is also a professional touch to every aspect of the industry now," says Kiran. Kiran is upbeat about his new television show Waaris, and says, "For a change, I am playing a character with shades of gray." He also maintains that he absolutely loves what he does. He says, "I can never imagine a life that is devoid of acting. I have always been an actor and I pray to God to make me an actor in my next birth too." |
