I heard TO almost lost Claire Holt until there was "fans outrage" and the show creators retracted what they said about her leaving to "just a hiatus until she comes back", Is that true TO watchers?

i am not sure what to believe anymore. the truth is originals is going just like TVD, after claire left in the next episode they established a triangle with elijah and an square relationship with klaus. so i am not sure how long i will stick with it, if the writers went for ships
