The vampire diaries are adapted from the books of the same name. The books were written by Lisa Jane Smith, an American writer. Is a young-adult series tha revolves the life of Elena Gilbert a high school going girl and the struggles and problems she goes through. The books were published in 1991-1992 and 2009 till present. The series premiered on the 10^th of September 2009

Season introduces us to Elena and her world. Everything was pretty much the same at Mystic fall, school started with the same routine, only one thing had changed. Elena. She had the same set of friends, her bestie Bonnie and Caroline her frenemy. Her ex-boyfriend was also still upset with her. Her parent death had shocked her and she was slowly coming out of it, but on the other side her little brother Jeremy was on the wrong path involving himself in drugs. Only one thing changed that school year that was the boy Stefan who recently joined. And Elena at first sight fell for him, and the feelings were mutual for Stefan. But Stefan was hiding a dark secret, he was a vampire. The season continued with more interesting twist and it introduced Damon, Stefan's older brother, and their clash. Damon also liked Elena, because she resembled someone both the brothers loved more than a decade ago. And the fight for Elena's soul started.

The second season mainly focuses on the arrival of Elena's doppelgnger Katherine Pierce and the reasons she returned to Mystic Falls. Katherine's manipulations threw a pull into the love triangle between Stefan, Elena and Damon, and the other residents of Mystic Falls were forced to choose sides as they fell victim to a new breed of danger. Stefan and Damon were later met with their greatest challenge yet - the arrivals of and Klaus two of the "Original" vampires. As Klaus went head-to-head with Damon and took a special interest in Stefan, he was also seemingly focused on breaking the "Sun and Moon" curse by sacrificing Elena. No matter what action the brothers took to protect Elena, Klaus would not be swayed from his mission, proving himself to be the most powerful vampire in existence. Ultimately, Klaus' sacrifice ritual proved deadly not for Elena but for her Aunt Jenna, whose violent death devastated both her family and her boyfriend.

Season three opens the door to the history of Klaus and The Original Family, as Klaus' motives for wanting Stefan on his side are finally revealed. As Stefan sinks deeper into the dark side, Damon and Elena struggle with the guilt of their growing bond, even as they work together to bring Stefan back from the edge. The ghosts from Jeremy Gilbert's past have a powerful message they're trying to deliver to him, not to mention the impact they're having on his relationship with Bonnie Bennett. After the emotional end of her relationship with Matt Donovan, Caroline Forbes grows closer to Tyler Lockwood, and a war erupts between their families.

Season will be released this November. And news has it that it'll be all about "transition". So prepare yourself for more romance, action and lots of entertainment.

The vampire diaries have successfully completed 3 seasons and it's gearing up for its 4^th. The viewers where floored by the unique concept of it, the exceptional characters of Elena/Katherine, Damon & Stefan. Whether it was the concept, characters, acting, directing or even the chemistry of the leads, whatever it was that attracted us to watch TVD.. It was a pure bliss.

We congratulate the entire team of The Vampire Diaries for reaching its 4^th season and still are the "talk of the town". We hope with its new seasons starting, may its popularity blossom even more and reach new heights of success.
