Just a random thought.

So the necklace obviously represents Stefan and Elena's relationship, yet somehow it has Damon written all over it. The reason Stefan gave Elena the necklace in the first place was to prevent compulsion from Damon. Every time the necklace has been lost it's not Stefan who has tried to search for it, it's Damon (at least the times that I remember). This fact though for me tells a lot.

By handing that necklace to Elena time and time again Damon is handing her vervain and in one way is telling her that he would never compel her (unless of course he has to profess his love for her). Also, by handing that necklace to Elena he is, in a way, handing her Stefan. What I mean by that is that he is proving that he won't be unfair, that he understands how important Stefan is and will be in Elena's life and he wouldn't want her to forget that. By handing her the necklace he is also saying "I don't want you to forget about Stefan to like me. I want you to like me in spite of Stefan."

I guess I don't really know how to explain it precisely. I could probably write an entire essay to clear my point, but I want to make this post readable so I'm just going to summarize what I mean: By handing her the necklace Damon is kind of doing the opposite of what Stefan did. While Stefan gave her the necklace to, in a way, get rid of Damon (who at the time wasn't competition, but danger), Damon understands that Stefan can't be forgotten and he wouldn't want that. By handing her the necklace Damon tries to show to Elena that Stefan is still there, but even then, something happened between them. Okay I'm rambling now.

In a way, the necklace means more to Damon and Elena, in terms of memorable moments, than Stefan and Elena. Funny how the necklace ended up being dangerous in the end. Representing that the necklace was both safe and deadly, kinda like both Salvatores.

• me: crap i haven't written my will who will i give my Avengers action figures to?
• murderer: why are you asking me-
• me: i mean obviously thor and loki have to go to the same person we can't separate them

• me: they'd be so lonely poor bbs wait that reminds me of this fanfiction i read
• murderer: you know what i'm just gonna let myself out.

^^That is SO me..Oh god I have to share this..once a burgular came to our house late night while me n my sis *elder sis* were sitting n watching TV..then all of a sudden we saw his hand coming from the window..My sis freaked out n ran to mom to inform about this..while I sat there continued eating chips..He saw me..I saw his face..he freaked out and ran off..I shrugged and continued watching TV and eating chips 😳😆
