The mammoth Kapil Sharma v/s Colors channel war was an intense one where there were moves plotted by the channel to counter Kapil's new show. And the results are finally out!
It's all about the numbers!
Many predicted Kapil's new show, 'The Kapil Sharma Show' to have a great opening viewership owing to its humongous popularity and the controversies surrounding it. And that did happen. The show, as expected, opened to a staggering TRP of 3 in the opening episode followed by a 2.9 in the second episode.
And this was a record breaking number for Sony TV, who hasn't seen broad daylight with such numbers lately.
When it comes to the moves taken by channel, the World TV Premiere of 'Bajirao Mastani' against the debut episode of 'The Kapil Sharma Show' did manage to give a vying chance, where it earned a point rating of 2.4.
And finally, the much hyped and arch rival, integration episode of 'Comedy Nights Bachao' and 'Comedy Nights Live' also was all set and guns blazing for a face-off. However, the episode did not quite match up to give a good fight where it earned a mediocre rating of 1.7.
This was purely about the numbers game which is won by 'The Kapil Sharma Show' convincingly.
And the other things
But, when it comes to the actual aspect which consists of comedy, entertainment and eye candy, Kapil's show managed to excel in that too.
The novelty in the characters of Kapil's new show, the star power coming on the show which is inevitable owing to Kapil's stature and the sheer excitement of Kapil making a comeback was enough to woo over the audiences convincingly.
This battle has pretty much been a one-sided affair. However, as we know 'The Kapil Sharma Show' is a limited episode season, we wonder what will be the next move by the rivals. Only time will tell.
