Kiya is an awkward girl who hates Valentine's day.
The reason?
She spent all night making a beautiful valentine for a boy when she was little.
Then he just threw it away.
Well years later,on that fateful valentine's day what happens when they meet again.

It is going to be very short story with 3 to 4 chapters maximum.

Chapter 1:

I spent three hours,three long hours sitting at my dining table making that stupid valentine.I was proud of it too.And he,being a stupid eight year old boy,thought it was dumb and threw it away.His name was Keshav Desai.I had all sorts of colors on it too.I made sure not to put too much pink or purple because those were girly colors and he didn't like girl colors.It was a masterpiece well at least by eight years old standards.There were swirls and shapes and loops and hearts of course.Which just goes to show that there is no point on going through so much work just for a stupid boy.

I should have listened to my sister,but no.She always told me boys were hopeless and I will just get hurt.I brought my perfect homemade valentine to school the next day and excitedly presented it to him.He took one look at it then at me and threw it away.All his friends were laughing and I had never been so humiliated.To this day I still haven't and it's officially nine years later on the february fourteenth,I truly don't care but watching all other couples creeps me out.

When I was eight I was a little chubby.I was eight for goodness sakes though.Now that I'm nineteen,I have lost all the baby fats,still short though.I may be more attractive now.But my dressing sense doesn't bring it out.I have my two best friends Panchi and Ranveer.But we can talk about them later.Right now we are here to talk about the fateful day that my whole perspective valentine's day got changed.That I Kiya Gujral,actually had a good valentine's day.

It was saturday and Valentine's day and l had to go to computer class.That's how evil my Parents and teachers are.

I got up.I put my stick straight brown hair in a ponytail and I then tripped over my dog that conveniently walked in front of me.My sister burst out laughing.I stuck my tongue out at her and went downstairs for breakfast.She is 22 and goes to the same college as me.We were out of cereal and milk.Great right?No.I decided I could do something different for a change and got my stuff and went to the local coffee shop.There was super long line.I wasn't even up for two hours and my day already was hell.

I didn't have to be at tution until about three anyways,but I had to be dressed because Panchi and Ranveer was taking me out to lunch.By the time I got the front of the line it was 11.Dang.I decided to get a coffee since I was going to lunch.I was sipping my coffee when I tuned around quickly and ran into someone.The coffee spilt all down my jacket.

"What the heck"I yelled.

"I'm sorry!Let me buy you a new coffee."

"No its fine my day already sucks so this isn't a big deal."I looked up at him and immediately recognized who it was,KD.

I think he kind of recognized me because he asked"Go I know you?"See what he doesn't realize is that we've been going to the same school for pretty much our lives,But I've never once been in his class or his social group.He even got in the same college!What are the odds of that?I'll tell you:very slim to none.

"Um..I'm Kiya"

"That's a pretty name,I'm KD."

He was still trying to figure out who I was so I decided to take pity on him and just explain.

"I'm Kiya Gujral.We've been going to the same school since we were 7.In 3rd grade I gave you a valentine and you threw it away"I said walking away.

He snapped his fingers then ran after me."Wait Kiya I'm sorry!I didn't recognize you."

"Obviously."I said still walking to my car.

"Hold on a sec"He said grabbing my arm.

"What?"

"Do you want to grab some lunch?"

"No"I said and continued walking.

"What about dinner?"He said walking next to me.

"I'll be at my computer class"

"Near our Old school"

"Perfect!I will meet you there at seven"Then he left before I could protest.

"Damn it"I muttered.I had to admit he was very attractive.He was really tall compared to me..Bright chocolate brown eyes.

I met Panchi and Ranveer at the Pizza place.It was our typical lunch place.

They had already gotten a table and some pizza.I went and sat down.

"Hey Kiya.How was your morning in the Valentine's day?"

"Awful.But I have a date."Ranveer coughed and sputterd and started choking on his pizza.Panchi started slapping him on the back and we were beginning to cause a scene.Finally he stopped.

He was at me with wide eyes."You have a date?"

"Yeah"I took a bite off my pizza.I enjoyed its lovely cheese taste.

"With who?!"

"Keshav Desai."I said non-chalantly.They both started laughing.

"No really.Who?"Panchi said.Damn her.

"I am not lying."I went on to tell them what happend this morning.They stared with wide eyes.

"Are you kidding me?The guy that you've been in love with since third grade?!"

"I have not been in love with him!"

"Yes you have."

"Nu uh!I completely forgot about him until this morning."

"So he managed to get you,Kiya Gujral,to go on a date with him?Wow."RV said.

I just threw the remains of my pizza at him.

"So what am I supposed to do you guys?I asked"I don't know dating protocol.And this is KD we're talking about."

"Don't worry Kiya.He must have known what he was getting himself into,so just be yourself."

"Do you have a plan B?"I asked.

"Seriously Kiya calm down."

I sighed"Fine"

We hung out for a bit longer after that it was two thirty and I had to go to my class.
