Hey guys I know I made you wait for such a long time. I really apologize for that. So to make up for such a long time. I'm updating two chapters at a stretch. Hope you like these parts as you liked my other parts and enjoy. Don't want to say more. Here goes my work.
Chapter 12(a): A big passionate fight
KD's exams and submissions had started. This phase is the worst part of any engineering student's life. Every week an assignment was issued to them at the time of practical. KD had a tough time managing college and meeting Kiya at the same time.
He had to sit for hours in the library, managing the notes and completing them. He used to run quickly at home after his college. At times, he used to stay awake all the night for completing his pending work. His personal routine was disturbed and along with him Kiya's routine also suffered. KD got too much busy in his classes, his submissions and his college.
One night, Kiya called him around 10.45 pm. He did not answer her calls. She was missing him a lot that night. She texted him-
'I worked on my laptop...
Wrote a little...
Browsed the net... Didn't feel good!
I switched on the TV..
Saw some news...
I explored my cell...
Played angry birds...
Listen to music... Didn't feel good.
I found out later...
Without talking to you..
I could not smile... Nor feel good! Missing you baby'
After trying to call him for nearly half an hour, Kiya called on his landline. Ruchi picked up the phone. She told Kiya that KD was fast asleep.
"He's sleeping? So early?" asked Kiya.
"Yeah should I wake him up?" Ruchi asked her.
"Yes please. Actually he was to complete a lot of assignments tonight. He told me that some external is supposed to come tomorrow." She said.
Kiya had actually lied to Ruchi. She wanted to talk to KD, but she did not want to show her that she is waking him up for just chit chatting. In a few minutes KD called her.
"Hello baby. I don't know when I slept... hello... you there, Kish?" he said in half sleep.
"Yes, KD, I am listening. What do you want to say?" she asked him furiously.
"Actually I was writing those assignments and I don't know when I fell asleep. I am sorry baby. What's the time now?" he asked.
"You don't have a watch at your place?" she asked in anger.
"What happened shone? Why are you talking like this?" he asked.
"That you know better KD. What do you think of yourself?
In the morning you are busy with your college, you run home immediately after that, and then, write assignments. We don't get time to talk to each other for the entire day and since last half an hour I am calling you like a fool. And what I get to know is that Mr. KD is busy sleeping! Where am I in all these Keshu? You have taken me for granted now. You are just concerned about yourself. I just can't believe that you have become so selfish. How could you do this to me?" she said in exasperation.
"What have I done shona ? I just fell asleep. I said I am sorry, and why are ou getting so annoyed. I know since few days I have become too busy, but it's part and parcel of life jaana. I am totally screwed with these submissions."
"Don't give excuses and talk as if you are the only engineering student. Don't forget that I also am an engineering student. I too have so many assignments."
"Kiya, I know you too are but no externals come to check your work but here we have externals."
"Shut up. Just shut your mouth." Kiya cut him in between. "I am dying to talk to you KD, and you were nicely enjoying your sleep. I think amongst both of us, only I feel like talking to you, you are not at all bothered. We haven't met from last so many days (only 3 days :D), but did you even ask me once whether I want to meet you or not. You are the only engineering student in this world who is down with so much pending work. Am I right?" she asked.
"Kiya, where are you taking this topic? I am really sorry sweetheart. Please try to understand. My routine is completely disrupted. I sleep late and wake up early. Yesterday I slept at around 3.30 am and woke up at 5.30. I rushed to the college immediately as that external was going to come. I was writing my assignments now and even I did not realize when I fell asleep. Have I ever done such thing before? Now shouldn't I expect a little understanding from you Kiya?" he completed.
"I know. Now I don't even understand you, right?" she asked.
KD was getting frustrated on the way she was talking to him. He was trying to sort out the situation, but Kiya was not at all ready to listen. She was extending the topic to nowhere.
"I am not at all saying that jaana, please stop saying these annoying things now." He pleaded.
"I am sorry KD. I know why all these things are happening. You don't love me the way you used to do before. You must have found someone new in your college. That is the reason why you have to attend your college every now and then. I am such a foolish girl. I am badly concerned about you, and you don't even care a damn for me." She said in a serious tone.
"What the hell Kiya. Enough is enough now. What immature things are you talking about? I have to attend college because the entire semester I hang around with you. If I don't go to college and get my assignments corrected, I will fail in that subject. Why don't such simple things go into your head damn it? I don't even talk to any girl in my class; forget about roaming around with them. During your exams, when you don't give time to me, do I create such scenes? At that time, do you even bother to call me for hours?" he asked.
"I don't want any explanations Keshu." She said.
"So what is my mistake then? What do you want to say, I should stop studying now. Kiya, I only get one month to prove myself. In this one month, I have to slog like a donkey, so that I can at least get passing marks. I am already stressed Kiya, please don't irritate me now." He said.
KD's voice rose too. Kiya's nose turned red. Tears started accumulating in her eyes. Her tone changed. She felt a lump in her throat while talking.
"Why don't you leave me if I irritate you so much? Go away from my life. I will not bother you then. I am seriously saying this; if you don't love me anymore please leave me alone." She said and started crying. Her pillow became wet due to her tears.
"Please don't say this jaana, you know I can't live without you. Please stop crying now. Please shona. I beg of you. You know very well that I get hurt when you cry. Please forgive me. I know because of my changed schedule you are getting frustrated. You want to be with me and I am not able to give you time. Please my baby, please stop crying." He said.
"You always make me cry... i... I know you are busy, but I can't stay.. I can't stay... without talking to you...you always hurt me. I wanted to tell you something too." Kiya was crying while saying this.
KD kissed her on the phone. His tone changed too.
"Stop crying Shona. What you want to tell me?" he asked.
"I will tell you later. Not now."
"Fine, tell me whenever you feel like saying it. Now can I ask you something?"
Kiya wiped her tears and said yes.
"Can we meet tomorrow?" he asked. " Please don't deny. I won't go to college tomorrow. I want to meet my darling. Please." He pleaded.
"I have class tomorrow till 9.00" she said in a low voice.
"ok. So I will come near your class at 9.00. Is it fine?"
"Hmm... ok." She said.
"Now please change your mood, show me how you smile?" he said with an expectation.
There was no reply from her side.
"Shona. I know you are smiling, I can feel it. Oh wow! What a wide smile now, your teeth are shinning!" he teased her.
"Keshuuu please. Don't irritate me now!" she said.
"I will never irritate my Shona baby henceforth, but I want a promise from you." He said.
"Hmm..." she replied.
"You will never ask me to leave you. Never in your worst dream will you say this. Can you promise me this?" he asked.
"Ok. I am sorry too." She said and started crying again.
"Jaan please. Stop crying. Imagine yourself besides me. Close your eyes now. Rest your head on my shoulder." KD said.
"Hmmm." Said Kiya.
"Now that's like my good girl. Now go to sleep. Tomorrow I am going to see my jaan after so many days. And do tell me what you wanted to say tomorrow." He said.
The next morning, Kiya got ready to leave for her Physics lecture. she used to hate the Physics lecture. She used to be physically present in the class and mentally in KD's thoughts. The classes had suddenly become strict in their attendance. They called up at student's place in case of uninformed absence. Kiya had already bunked many lectures. It was not possible for her to take any risks any more.
She called KD before her lecture commenced. He did not answer her call. She messaged him-
I will kill you if you come late.'
The professor entered the class in a hurry. He had a habit of constantly wiping his forehead with his handkerchief. He drew a diagram on the board. As soon as he completed drawing it, he faced the class and started explaining it.
Kiya seemed disinterested in whatever her professor taught.
Kiya was continuously trying to call KD. She messaged him too. But he was neither answering her calls nor replying to her message. Kiya understood that he was still sleeping
Kiya left the class at 9.00 and called Ruchi.
"Hello." Ruchi said in a low voice. She was deep in sleep.
"Hello Ruchi, where is Keshu?" Kiya asked.
"He is sleeping. Wait I will wake him up!" Ruchi replied.
She went in his room and placed her mobile on his ears.
"Dada, Kiya's call!" she said and went back to sleep.
KD woke in a startle. He rubbed his eyes and saw Ruchi's phone. Kiya was on hold.
"Hello Kiya, where are you baby? Hello... Hello!"
Kiya did not utter a single word. She hung the phone on his face.
Her anger had no limits. kD checked the time. It was 9.30 am.
He knew that he was going to get badly screwed now.
He panicked. He was continuously trying to call her but Kiya ignored his calls. He texted her-
Baby I have left already. Plzzz pick up my phone... plzzz jaana!!!!!!'
She replied-
'get lost'
kD washed his face and wore a jeans and a t-shirt. He told his mom that he had to reach college as some important practical has been scheduled. He did not even have a sip of water and left immediately.
He called kiya. But to his misfortune, she had switched off her mobile. He sent her dozens of messages but they were not even getting delivered. He took an auto and reached near her class. He saw no one there. He once again took an auto and went near her house. he thought that if he sees her somewhere in the way, he will catch his ears and explain his stupidity to her.
After spending an hour below her house, he finally called on her landline. It was engaged. He knew that Kiya had purposefully kept the receiver aside. He called Ruchi and asked her to call Kiya's mom. Kiya's mom's mobile started ringing.
"Hello" Kiya's mom said.
