Chapter 44
Thapki looked at Sheena who was looking back at Thapki with a very mysterious smile that made Thapki very uneasy. Kabir excitedly walked towards her and hugged her.
Kabir: "Oh I missed u so much. But u did not tell me abt ur arrival or I wd have myself come to the airport to pick u up"
Sheena: "If I wd have informed u then how wd have I surprised u and myself as well"
Kabir: "Meaning?"
Sheena: "Oh nthg darling. U know how I like to give surprises. And this bday was a surprise for myself too. Any way so where is the bday boy. Oh there he is"
She gave Kabir a smile and walked towards where Dhruv and Shradha were standing. She handed him a gift box. Thapki wondered how Sheena brought the gift when she herself called it to be a surprise for herself. While Sheena was busy in talking with Dhruv and other family members, Bihaan walked towards Thapki.
Bihaan: "R u okay Thapki?"
Thapki (in a very low voice): "Physically yes but mentally... Note sure"
Bihaan: "Wat did u say?"
Thapki: "Nthg. I am fine... will sit here and u just go and entertain the guests. I can not walk much as my heels r killing my feet"
Bihaan: "U just go and change into sthg comfortable"
Thapki: "No it is okay Bihaan. I can handle it"
She looked at Sheena's long legs and high heels and gave Bihaan a fake smile. Bihaan knew she was not comfortable but did not say much. Sheena waved at Bihaan. Bihaan excused himself and walked towards Sheena.
The rest of the night was a not a fun night for Thapki anymore.

John was sitting in his hotel room and was drinking heavily. Many thoughts were running through his mind. The announcement of Kiran and Vicky's engagement at the end of the party had left him shocked. He was not expecting this to happen this soon. He did not get the chance to do anything abt it. He had to do sthg. He had invested so much of his time and energy in her and he had to get sthg out of her. "If plan A did not work it does not mean Plan B could also be a fail" was the thought that brought an evil smile on John's face and he picked up his mobile and dialled a number.

Thapki opened her eyes and looked at the clock. It was 11 o'clock already and she was still asleep. She turned her face and found Bihaan sleeping next to her. Last night was such a busy night. First Dhruv's bday party and then Sheena's arrival and last but not the least, the engagement announcement of Kiran and Vicky. It was very late at night when she came to her room and changed and went to bed instantly. Bihaan must have come even more late and that is y he was still asleep.
Thapki got up and went to wash room to freshen up. When she got out, Bihaan was almost up. She came near him and touched his shoulder. Bihaan opened his eyes and looked at her.
Thapki: "Bihaan I am going downstairs. U freshen up and also come downstairs"
She did not wait for his reply and turned but Bihaan held her hand and made her turn back. She signalled with her head to ask wat he wanted. Bihaan looked into her eyes and saw the worry. He did not say anything and let her go. Thapki looked at him confusingly but left without saying anything. Bihaan knew that Thapki was worried coz Sheena was back again so he promised himself to make her as secure as possible. But he needed some time before giving her the security she wanted and this was his biggest concern at the moment.

Thapki was greeted by Sheena, Kabir and Preeti on the dining table. Thapki excused herself for being late. She was told that Vasu and Mrs. Singhania had gone out for the shopping for engagement.
Preeti: "It will be so much fun. But will miss out on most of it due to my condition"
Kabir: "Arre Bhabhi don't worry we will make all arrangements so that u do not miss out on even single thing"
Thapki: "Bhabhi the engagement is 10 days form now and we need to arrange everything so quickly. I am so excited"
Sheena: "There is not one but two two engagements on the same day"
Thapki: "Two?"
Sheena: "Yes. I and Kabir are getting engaged on the same day. I got a call from my dad this morning and he told me that this is the perfect mahurat for that"
Preeti: "Wow that is such an awesome news but how will we attend the two engagements on the same day"
Bau Ji and Mr. Singhania entered the room and inquired abt Preeti's question. Preet informed them abt Kabir and Sheena's engagement which made Bau Ji very happy. Sheena and Kabir took Bau Ji's blessings.
Bau Ji: "I am so happy for u my children"
Sheena: "Yes but it is on the same day as Kiran's and every one will go there and no one will be there at my engagement. I need to cancel it to some other date"
Bau Ji: "Who says there will be no one at ur engagement. U r just like a second daughter to me. Ur engagement will be done at the same venue where we will have Kiran and Vicky's engagement"
Mr. Singhania also liked the idea and everyone cheered up.

Thapki was serving breakfast to Bihaan. She asked Kabir if he would like to have some orange juice. Kabir nodded and thanked her.
Sheena: "Wow Kabir. Even Thapki knows that u like orange juice. Seems like she has been taking very gud care of u"
Kabir: "Yes Sheena. Thapki is a very sweet girl. She looks after everyone. Bihaan is so blessed to have married the most perfect girl ever"
Sheena made a jealous face and Bihaan noticed it.
Bihaan: "But u r lucky too as Sheena is also a very nice girl. I am sure u two will make a perfect couple"
Thapki entered the room with a glass of orange juice and handed it to Kabir. He once again thanked her and Thapki replied with a smile. Bihaan also noticed that the alienation between the two had changed into friendliness.

Thapki was in her room putting stuff in her wardrobe when Bihaan entered the room. Thapki looked at him but continued putting stuff in her wardrobe.
Bihaan: "I am going out with Kabir. Need to take care of some stuff. Sheena and Kiran are also going out for shopping. Kiran wanted to take u too but I refused"
Thapki: "Okay"
Bihaan came close to Thapki and back hugged her.
Bihaan: "I want u to get ready in the evening. We will go out and will do our own shopping"
Thapki turned back and the two were now face to face. Bihaan moved his arms on her shoulder.
She looked into his eyes and then hugged him. Bihaan hugged her back.
Thapki: "I thought u will forget abt me now when so much is going around u"
Bihaan: "I can never forget abt u Thapki"
He kissed her hair and said to himself "U r my first priority Thapki but things are not easy for me right now. I may not be wat u think I am. I have a past. An ugly and painful past and I want to tell u everything before giving u a chance to judge me before knowing my side of story. I love u Thapki and I c love in ur eyes for me and I want that to stay the same always. I will not be able to c hatred in ur eyes for me...Not in ur eyes Thapki. I will not survive after that"

Thapki was ready in her dark green dress. She was looking very beautiful. She was learning some makeup tips from Preeti and was now able to do her make up on her own. Truth was that she needed very less makeup but still some things here and there always brought a fresh change in her. she received Bihaan's text to come downstairs and she hurriedly took her purse and walked downstairs. She had already taken permission from Dadi as Vasu Maa and Mrs. Singhnia were again not at home.
While walking downstairs, she noticed Shradha, Kiran and Sheena sitting in lounge. Shradha was excitedly seeing their shopping. She noticed Thapki and an evil smile appeared on her lips.
Shradha: "R u going some where Thapki?"
Thapki: "Yes"
Shradha: "R u going on a reception party of ur relative?"
Thapki: "No I am not but y u saying so?"
Shradha: "Ur anrkali with churidar made me think so"
Both Sheena and Shradha laughed at that. Kiran did not like it.
Kiran: "Thapki bhabhi u r looking very pretty. Must apply a kala teeka or else some evil eye might catch u"
Thapki cheered up at Kiran's praise.
Thapki: "Kiran I am going out with Bihaan and will be back late. Please do tell Suman Bhabhi as I can not find her anywhere"
Kiran nodded. Before leaving Thapki did not forget to look at Sheena's face which had an angry look that gave her super satisfaction.

Thapki and Bihaan returned home very late from their shopping and dinner date. Thapki was tired so she went upstairs whereas Bihaan stayed downstairs for some discussion with Bau Ji. Thapki opened the wardrobe and put the shopping bags inside. While cloing it she noticed the bag with nightie in it. She picked it up and looked inside. She was abt to put it back when Sheena's face came into her mind. She instantly took the nightie out and went into the wash room.

Bihaan entered his room after taking instructions from Bau Ji. He noticed that Thapki was already in the bed covered in the conforter. He took his night suit and went to the washroom to change. He came out and lay down on his side of bed. He tried to cover himself with the comforter but Thapki had it all for herself. He moved closer to Thapki to ask her to share it with him too but he noticed that she was shivering. Bihaan put his hand to her forehead but it was cold.
Bihaan: "Thapki r u alright? U r shivering so bad"
Thapki: "I am okay Bihaan"
Bihaan noticed the stammer in her voice.
Bihaan (concerned): "But u don't sound okay to me. Just sit and let me check ur fever"
Bihaan got up from his place and started looking for thermometer. He soon found one and looked at Thapki who had not moved an inch.
Bihaan: "Wat's wrong Thapki... Just sit in the bed and let me check ur temperature"
Thapki did not move an inch. Bihaan got concerned and sat next to where Thapki was lying in the bed. He tried to move the cover from Thapki. Thapki who was not ready for it screamed "No" but by then her upper body was out of cover and Bihaan saw a beautiful black silk nightie on Thapki's body. Before Bihaan could examine more, Thapki pulled the cover back, leaving Bihaan stunned.
