PART FOUR
Thapki explained everything that had happened to Vasundhra on their way to their new house.
Vasundhra was devastated, she couldn't believe it
How they had all been taken in.
Worse, she was the one who had brought that reprehensible woman into her family and look at what had happened.
Her family was no longer intact.
She cursed herself so much.
How could one little prejudice on her part cause so much havoc?
Up ahead Bihaan indicated and turned into the driveway of their new house.
From the outside it was a modest little house that looked neat and tidy.
The door opened suddenly and Bihaan's three best friends stood at the doorway one even holding an aarti plate.
Thapki recognised them from the day they had come to watch the cricket game and she had pretended to drink after she had swapped all the bottles of alcohol with tulsi.
Bihaan paid the auto and helped his wife and mom to the door.
"Wait," Vasundhra stopped Bihaan's friend from doing the aarti.
"Let me do it. Let me welcome my son and bahu to their new house."
She took the plate and proceeded to do the aarti.
After having been applied tilak , Bihaan and Thapki stepped into their new house together.
How it looked on the outside was reflected on the inside too.
It wasn't big but it was bright and neat and clean.
Thapki looked at her husband and gave a little nod at his enquiring look.
"Its beautiful, " she whispered.
She walked to the kitchen to survey it.
It was small but all the amenities were there.
New plates and cooking utensils were laid on the kitchen counter still in their wrappers.
By the sink, a carton full of fresh fruit and vegetables stood along with other daily food rations.
"Bhabhi , I am sorry we haven't been able to put together a lot at such notice but we promise we will get you all else you need tomorrow. "
"You've done brilliantly, thank you so much."
The boys shyly turned away and headed towards the exit.
Bihaan let them out and locked the door.
"So, what do you really think? Anything you don't like we can change straight away. "
She turned to Bihaan with shining eyes,
"Like I said , Bihaan its beautiful. Our own little house. "
She clapped her hands with excitement.
Her husband stepped closer to her.
"Well , is that the way to express happiness or gratitude? "
He pulled her into his arms.
"Bihaan, Maa."
"Maa has gone to bed already. Besides she will understand.
"Well, how about it Mrs Thapki Bihaan Pandey? "
To answer his question she stood on tippy-toes , closed her eyes and puckered her lips in anticipation.
Bihaan tilted his head until he was only millimetres away from her lips but didn't put his lips on hers yet.
He stood admiring the incredible beauty that was his wife.
Finally when her long lashes swept open to see why he was taking so long did he press his lips on hers.
She could hear the whistling of blood rushing to her head and the thudding of her heart when he finally released her.
"I promise I will make love to you on every inch of this house but for today lets start in the bedroom. "
Having said so he picked her up in his arms and headed that way.
After throwing Shradda out, Dhruv had gone back to his room and lay on top of his bed fully clothed , trying to calm himself down.
So much had happened in the last few days if he thought more about it he would go crazy.
After a long while and a lot of effort his equanimity returned back to him.
He got up and headed towards his Dadima's room like everyone else knowing that is probably where everyone was gathered.
Before he could knock and enter, he heard Bihaan and Thapki seeking Bauji's blessing and telling everyone they would be leaving Pandey Nivaas.
Dhruv stood shocked.
His reason for waking up every day, Thapki, would no longer be there anymore.
At first he thought of making some excuse to stop them, then his brain engaged into gear.
Let them go.
Quickly he walked away from Dadima's room and back to his own room before they could see him.
It was now time to break them apart.
Thapki might have given Bihaan a chance but she didn't love him.
She had told him so herself.
Even if she had changed her mind why then was she not wearing those basics of adornments that every dharam patni wore for her husband.
She wore no sindoor or mangalsutra for Bihaan therefore couldn't have accepted him.
Besides they were as different as different could ever get.
Chalk and cheese.
Plus Thapki loved him. Dhruv
If he hadn't been able to get over her after all this time how else could she have got over him and that too for Bihaan.
No effing way.
He had to make a plan to break them up and he knew just the person to help him.
First of all though, he had to get rid of Shradda.
Thapki would never come to him with him still married.
He knew that about her pretty well.
He now phoned his lawyer outlining his requirements and they made an appointment for the next day.
