Why must a working woman always end up falling for her boss?

I'm seriously fed up of this trope of "middle-class working woman falling for her rich boss". It's seriously regressive, and gives out the message that no matter how independant a woman may get, her ultimate aim is to secure a husband for herself, even while at the workplace. Its extremely derogatory IMO.
Why couldn't they make Dhruv somebody un-related to her professional life?

This is Indian television so it is bound to happen and it will happen ...

What do you expect to happen, Thapki getting insulted /mocked by her rich boss so we can see her crying 😆..

He has seen nice hardworking girl who is struggling to surivive in this world..she has not fallen for him.. she feel sorry for him because all these things happend because of her stammering ...

I liked one things - her boss did not make fun of her for stammering or did not fire her because she stammers..

My point is, why should a girl fall for only her Boss? Why couldn't Dhruv be somebody else other than her Boss? This seriously undermines a woman's independence at workplace.

This trend is a little regressive, yes. I'd have liked if Dhruv was a random guy who works along with Thapki in her workplace rather him being the channel head. But our Indian soaps are relied on trp aunties who maybe like to see a rich boss falling for his middle class girl intern. This is the fourth show I'm watching which has the same format.., But the trend is followed by a certain directors and PH, not everyone. Hope this trend changes soon.

Actually, its the show "Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin" who sparked this trend, methinks. 😆
