Colors actually started unique female characterization instead of saas bahu mahan sacrificing fls and got in sort of revolution in itv during its inception. Both Anandi and Bhabo were product ot their times and acted their age.
It was Ekta era with saas bahu and endless plotting by vamp till then. Colors came in with Balika Vadhu and forced Star to revamp with positive shows like Yrkkh (season 1 not the current trash), Ek hazaron main , Maryaada, Veera, Sasural Genda Phool.
Even in shows where one sister hated other, like Rashi hated Gopi she never chased her husband or want Gopi to die. Seerat is made ridiculously evil when she was a greedy dummy who wanted money in og. Also Rashi/og Seerat did not suddenly learn to cook and become ideal bahu, but of course writers need to play evil sister versus mahan sister instead of balancing characters.
Though Colors did have dumb characters like grown up Ichha Tapasya from Uttaran. Every show today is following that template of one woman demanding another woman's husband and claiming she had first rights on the husband. As if that is all women do all their lives, no other source of conflict. That too the women are blood sisters or shared a sisterly bond at one time.
With itvs overall viewership going down, maybe channels will finally decide to get some sense and start showing unique stories instead.
It is more egregious that the main vamp here is a dumbo herself and everyone around her is made selectively mute , deaf , blind to explain how no one realizes what she is upto. At least get a vamp who plots like Komolika.
