Veer was showing Simran around Brar Mansion. They land in Angad and Sahiba’s bedroom and simran loves the view of pool from their room.
“Veer Bhaiya, kitna sundar lagta hai yeh swimming pool ka view Angad Bhaiya aur Sahiba Didi ke room se?” Simran spoke excitedly as she took a bite of her favorite snack, yup the good ole samosa!
“Haan, Angad Veer ji ko swimming kaafi pasand hai. Isliye pool unke room ke nazdeek hai.” Veer told Simran.
“Veer Bhaiya, inke bed par yeh doriyaan kyun hain? Yeh toh pehli baar dekha hai.” Simran’s curiosity peeked.
“Woh isliye, kyunki un dono ke beech ek bahut silly sa game chal raha hai, ki koi dusra unke side par na aaye. Chalo tumhein kya lagta hai, kaun kiski side lega agar yeh doriyaan nahin hoti toh?” Veer tried to cover the problems that remained in Sahiba and Angad’s relationship.
“Well, Veer Bhaiya, Simran has an idea!” Saying so, Simran leaned in Veer’s ear and shared her secret idea.
“Yeh toh fantastic idea hai. Chalo main tumhari help karta hoon.” Veer enthusiastically hi-fives Simran, and they went to work on the operation- No Dori, No Worry!
Veer and Simran got to work. Veer brought sharp kitchen shears to fray the strings in different places, while Simran removed every alternate string. No one was going to count the strings, so who would notice? The idea was that the remaining strings were extremely weak, so tossing in bed would help remove those already weak strings by unexpectedly shifting one’s arm or leg on it.
Nighttime
Angad was already on his side of the bed. Sahiba came and thanked him for his efforts and shred how she thought he honestly didn’t know about her birthday.
“Thank you Angad. It was a beautiful party. I thought you didn’t know about my birthday. Sorry I came late, and thank you so much for supporting Simran.” Sahiba said it all in one breath.
“Ok, no need to be so formal. However, I must admit teasing you was super fun! The way you grimaced thinking I didn’t know your birthday or wouldn’t do anything! It was really hard keeping a straight face on! And next time, even try to text me. God, I was so worried. You did right by Simran. Who knows what those vile people would have done with her.” Then Angad showed Sahiba the pictures he took of hers when she was cutting her cake at midnight!
Sahiba smiled seeing the pics, and had an eye lock with Angad. She became conscious and lowered her eyes. Angad smiled seeing her getting shy and suddenly his stomach grumbled.
“Oh no, I gotta go again.” Angad got up in haste holding his stomach.
“Angad, I’ll put out some crackers and Imodium for you once you’re back. Take it, as it will help.” Sahiba said as she rummaged through the medicine box in her room.
Once Angad came back, Sahiba ensured he took his meds, and then tucked him in bed. She had an itch to transfer Simran’s kiss to him but somehow her shyness refrained her.
She closed the lights and took to her side of the bed, separated by those weakened doriyaans!
Early Morning
Sahiba had a fitful sleep. She kept dreaming of the warden and had been tossing and turning. As a result of which, those doriyaan had come off. In the wee hours of early morning, one saw her peacefully sleeping with her head on Angad’s broad shoulder and her face borrowed in the crane of his neck.
Angad on the other hand, had a beautiful smile playing on his lips in his sleep. Both his arms were securely wrapped around his vohti.
The sunlight permeating through the curtains woke up Sahiba. She lazily opened her eyes and slowly at her pillow. She jerked up realizing that she conveniently had been using her husband as a pillow. The sudden motion in turn woke up Angad as well, and he looked in the direction of the jerk. His arm was still around Sahiba’s waist. He looked up at Sahiba and questioned through his eyes first. Sahiba, meanwhile was registering the location of her husband’s arm on her body.
“What happened Sahiba?” Saying so, Angad too got awareness of Sahiba’s proximity to him. He slowly retracted his hand allowing Sahiba to move around more freely.
“Uhm, kuch nahin…I’ll go get ready.” Sahiba excused herself.
While heading to the washroom, one could hear her mumble, “Pata nahin, yeh doriyaan kaise toot gayi?”
Angad smirked as he touched the strings that lay on his bed. On closer inspection, he found that every string was frayed. That’s quite a coincidence. Seems like there’s someone who doesn’t like the strings! But who could that be? Def not Ms. Golagappa. Chalo koi nahin. All’s well that ends well. - he thought.
Angad was taking out his clothes when Sahiba came out taking a shower. She looked around, and got some strings to re-tie.
“Oh, you’re re-tying the strings because you’re scared that you won’t be able to resist me otherwise?” Angad spoke cockily.
“Eh hello you! That’s not true!” Sahiba answered.
“Ok, then prove it by not tying the strings. Let me also see your level of restraint!” Angad was amused. He absolutely didn’t want those darn strings again. However, he couldn’t be direct with Sahiba, so he resorted to teasing her.
“Fine, you’ll see my will power” Sahiba said while mentally praying to Baba ji - Baba ji please mera saath dena!
Next Night:
Angad and Sahiba went to sleep like all normal couples.. that is without any dividers between them. Soon Sahiba drifted off to sleep and once again landed on Angad’s shoulder. Angad had been waiting for this moment. He too snuggled more cozily with his votti, and gave her a kiss on her forehead. We’re getting there Sahiba. Don’t give up on us- Angad thought as he too fell asleep.
