Angad’s Bedroom:

Angad sat on his bed with the papers in hand. He could not believe things could go this far. The past whole week he had been frantically searching for Sahiba. He even placed private investigators to search for her. After 2-3 days they had concluded that Sahiba was not in Ludhiana. Angad even tried to pull a favor with the police. He did not want to make an official complaint of a missing person, lest it bring negativity to his firm. The two had been unsuccessful so far. The only good thing with the letter meant that Sahiba was safe somewhere. Seeing the address was Chandigarh, Angad figured it would be better that his investigators concentrate looking there.

He hadn’t had breakfast or lunch yet and his room was closed. He did not feel like meeting anyone. It was a big blow with everything that has happened so far. He never thought that Sahiba would leave. Her letter did not hold malice, but it was full of disappointments. It portrayed his failures as a husband, and as a supportive spouse in the modern age.

He glanced and touched the doriyaan that were tied on his bed. He reminisced about his moments with Sahiba. Yeh kya kabhi nahin hateingi? - He thought to himself.

Soon, Manveer called and demanded he open his door as she was right outside. Angad got up and opened the door, and he silently gave her the documents. When Manveer reviewed the contents of the documents, she was shocked with whatever Sahiba had said in her letter. All of Manveer’s fears with Seerat marrying and coming to live in the Brar Mansion was unfolding slowly. In hindsight, the lack of boundaries and clarity from Angad’s end, helped spiral the mess he was in now. Manveer didn’t know what to do. She called Inder to join them urgently. Their son was in a big mess. Daarji could even snatch his position as CEO if he was led to believe Angad did something immoral. Manveer noted that Angad had no such feelings for Seerat. However, the past incidents that occurred would cause anyone to double question. Any self-respecting girl could not compromise with such a situation. Manveer also knew deep down in her heart that Sahiba was not the same as Seerat. If Sahiba had to do something, she would do it openly upfront; whereas Seerat would use her cunningness to get what she desired. Manveer was really furious with Angad. His follies had become a catalyst for these unwanted problems.

When Inder arrived, he too was shocked reading the

contents of the legal documents. No one had thought things would go this far; they had assumed that Sahiba would eventually come back.

Manveer directly asked Angad without beating around the bush, “Angad, do you love Seerat?”

Angad was shocked by his mother’s question. He replied “No Mumma. After knowing that she likes Gary, I never thought of her like that“

Inder, then asked, “And where do you stand by Sahiba? Do you even like her a bit? What do you want to do with her? Forget about what Brar traditions are. I know that the wedding was in a haste. It was coerced. You tell me what you want.”

Angad took a deep breath and looked at his father, “Honestly, I wanted to work on my marriage. After Gary’s revelation, I realized that I need to work things out with Sahiba. She had proven herself innocent. However, the topics that came up after that, we were never in agreement. She never agreed for Seerat’s wedding to Gary, and she wanted to work and study which Daarji opposed. I had begun to understand how she was as a person after her shop’s burning; knowing I was the cause behind it, she didn’t waiver from my side. She was upset, but she still did her duty. Honestly, I don’t know how everything led to where we are. I had actually started liking her. When I heard of her fake pregnancy report, I was enraged that there could be someone else in her life. I doubted her character. Upon finding out the truth, I felt ashamed. It took a while for Sahiba to accept my apology, but she understood my state of mind, which caused my fury. Whenever we were two steps ahead together, it seems with everything happening at home, we were forced to revert back 4 steps.”

Inder then responded, “Well, her letter mentions your happiness. She believes that you want to be with Seerat. In no way she has said that she did not want to be with you, but she feels that if Seerat is the one you want, why should she make you unhappy? This, son can be taken as evidence of hope for your marriage. However, I must warn you in advance, you will need to do a lot and I mean a lot of work to get this train back on track. One more thing I’m surprised to read is that Seerat has feelings for you. Manveer, have you seen anything odd happening?”

Just then, Seerat came in with a tray of food for Angad. Manveer and Inder exchanged meaningful glances.

Seerat, “Angad, I brought lunch for you. I heard you didn’t even eat breakfast.” Angad looked at her. He had been lost with everything that was happening, but Seerat’s unannounced dropping in helped him in understanding where he had gone astray.

Manveer spoke up, “ If Angad needs anything, he can get the house staff to provide him. Why did you come here? Also/, Sahiba already told you to knock before coming in here, why didn’t you do that?”

Seerat was caught in a trap, and she feigned her innocence, “I just thought to bring food. Why are you all getting upset? I thought while Sahiba is not here..”

Manveer had enough of Seerat’s duplicitous nature, “Suno Seerat, toh kya saali aadhi gharwali wala plan hai? Yeh tumhare Jeth- Jathani ka kamra hai. Agali baar se Angad ko Angad Veer ji kehkar bulana. Woh tumhara pati ya devar nahin jo tum usse uske naam se bulao.”

“Par Sahiba toh meri chhoti behen hai. Isliye main..” Seerat did not want to call Angad her Veer ji.

“Jab tum dono behen maayke mein ek saath hogi, toh wahaan bulana Angad. Jab sasuraal mein ho toh sasuraal ka rishta sabse aage hota hai.” Manveer spoke with finality in her voice.

Once Seerat got out, Manveer closed the door behind her and looked at both Angad and Inder.

“Did you see the audacity of this girl? Her sister was in jail, and this girl never bothered to go visit her. Yet she has full concerns for her brother-in-law. The same sister who did so much for her. What can one construe from that Inder?” Manveer was really upset.

“Just that she’s concerned with herself only, what you call selfish. Angad, Rabb da shukr mana eisi characterless ladki se tera vyah na hua. Yeh tum dono bhaiyon ke beech pendulum ki tarah dolti rahegi.” Inder spoke.

“I am beginning to understand what you mean. “ Angad began to reflect on the nature of both sisters.

Manveer spoke, “Angad forget about Seerat and what she is doing. Focus on your relationship with Sahiba. If you want to maintain that relationship, then you need to work on it, just concentrate on that. This evening, the three of us will go visit the Mongas on this. And don’t utter a word to anyone yet.”

Evening

The Mongas were melancholic knowing that there was no traceability of Sahiba for a week. They were praying to Babaji to keep her safe. They feared for the worst. They knew that Angad from his end was doing his level best as well.

Soon, they heard a knock on the door, and Keerat went to check. Seeing Angad and his parents, Keerat was a little fearful while opening the door. The fear was not because of Manveer, but what was the reason that she was accompanying her son.

Santosh seeing the Brars, got them seated comfortably and was als terrified. If it was good news, Angad would have instantly shared it with them via phone. However, he was here with his parents who were looking grim.

Jawai ji, aap sab achanak se. Sahiba theek toh hai na. Kahin usse kuch hua toh nahin.” Santosh’s voice quivered.

Manveer had looked around, and noticed how things had gotten better in terms of lifestyle for the Mongas. She cut Santosh off to avoid dramatics, “Santosh ji, Sahiba bilkul sahi salamat hai. Itni ki usne talak ke kagaz bhejein hain Chandigarh se.”

Hein, aap yeh kya keh rahi hain?” Santosh spoke surprised.

Inder forwarded the legal documents to Ajit to read who was bewildered as to why Sahiba did this.

Keerat was shocked hearing divorce, and could only muster, “But Jiju, after you allowed her to pursue studies, she was so happy. She hadn’t at all thought you’d help her. She was so sure to not disappoint you. She had started to respect you after the whole shop was rebuilt. I don’t understand why she would do something like this. I genuinely thought she was developing a soft corner for you.”

Manveer took note of what Keerat said. So Sahiba does care for Angad. She’s not just using him. - Manveer thought to herself.

Angad then forwarded the letter Sahiba had written to him to Taiyi ji. Taiyi ji upon finishing the letter trembled, and said, “Toshi, Fakir Baba’s words are coming true. Aag aur ghee ka milan.” She then handed the letter to Santosh, who could not believe what she read.

Inder asked, “What do you mean by aag aur ghee ka milan?”

Then Santosh told them the whole story of how they were warned by Fakir baba, but did not think much of it. After all, Seerat got married to the guy she wanted, and all the Mongas saw how Angad saved Sahiba.

This Cindy baby is the cause of all problems. Because of her we always get unwanted trouble. Sahiba Di helped her so much even after she came back. Nobody wanted to keep her, so Sahiba Di urged that we do. Angad Jiju got her married to Garry. Now look at Seerat. She’s making advances towards Angad Jiju. Besharmi ki bhi hadd hoti hai. Mummy mere ko mera bat do, abhi uski saari aashiqi ka bhoot utarti hoon. Jis thali mein khaya, usi mein chhed kar diya.- Keerat vented her anger.

Santosh started her histrionics as well, “Karmjali kyun kohk mein nahin mar gayi. Eisi aulad se toh be-aulad hi rehna theek hai. Kya nahin hum sab ne iss kulakshni ke liye nahin kiya. Ek samay meri Sahiba ke bhi haath bahut komal thei, par ghar ki zimmedari aur iss paapin ke khawayshein puri karte karte uske haath kathor ho gaye. Seerat ke wajah se Sahiba par itne pahar tut pade. Aap sabne bhi kabhi usse dil se apnaya nahin kyunki woh ek makkar maa aur jhoothi behen se taalluk rakhti hai.”

Ajit meanwhile with Keerat, was reading Sahiba’s letter.

Inder tries to be the voice of reason, “Look Santosh ji, can you find out and confirm Seerat has diverted towards Angad? I’d like to request that you join us for the court hearing. Perhaps seeing you, Sahiba may reconsider.”

Haan ji, jaisa aap kaho.Hey baba ji meri bachhi ka ghar bacha lo”. Santosh prayed. She added, “Main kal aapke ghar aati hoon Seerat se baat karne.”

Night @ Angad’s Bedroom Terrace:

I didn’t realize that things could get so misconstrued. Sahiba, if you think I’m falling for Seerat, then you’re completely wrong. I myself have been uncomfortable with her unexpected drop-ins but didn’t say anything because she’s your sister. I should have heed to both Mumma and you. I realize that the promise I made to Seerat, I should have confined it to my role as a brother-in-law. I had never thought that she would take advantage of it. I thought she loved Garry in the first place. Sahiba Kaur Brar, you want divorce, and I, Angad Singh Brar will never sign those papers. Mera vyah tumse ho chuka hai. Yeh koi bachapan ka khel nahin, jahan tum apni doll apni behen ko de do. Pati hoon tumhara, aur rahoonga marte dam tak. - Angad made up his mind.

Wow good one AV. Finally things are coming to head and angad realised his mis steps.

The whole support thing is so blown out of proportion as if it's the age where girls don't study and the husband actually wants them to study and fights with the whole world

Angad in a show as well going to get his karma for not setting boundaries. Also called it writer problem or actor's his uneasiness with Seerat doing anything for him is not at all coming across so u have to assume he actually enjoys things

Loved how manbeer and indar United for their son. And took correct decisions

Seerat is so shameless. SHe doesn't want to call angad veerji🤣. That's actually a correct point. Why none in brar mansion says this to seerat

I think you should turn this into a short story or FF.it has good premise. Loved it

Amazing work 👏👏👏👏

The dialogues of Santosh reminded me of Gaatchora's dialogues. Especially the "haat komal" part. 🥰🥰

Please consider turning this into a short story because I am looking forward to reading about Seerat and Santosh's confrontation scene and not to mention Daarji shouldn't be getting off scott free. Angad's realization was good and Manveer's thoughts were not on the right track for now.

I am really looking forward to reading how you take this. ❤️❤️❤️

Finally Angad got some sense!! This blow actually needed him to understand what blunders he made for so many months that Sahiba reached to this conclusion!! But I like the way you are showing rational thinking in each of them be it Manbeer , Inder or Angad!! I really really wanted them to see Sahiba’s character and her worth!! And it seems they are on the right path!! I loved Angad’s last thought, he finally accepted with his heart and mind that he is Sahiba’s husband not just son of the family!!

I love this one 💗 please continue with the next part!! Thank you for tagging me 🙂
