I hate to say that the main character has not been able to make any impact so far: some points...
Whatever we have seen of her seems quite superficial...except one or two instances. I liked her when she took Jazz to the doctor and made him attend to her sister.
She talks of Paris always, has she ever saw/read ( about) lives of lower middle class people. With the kind of life in Paris, any place on earth would be amazing coz such life comes without any effort with hundred percent comfort as per your choice.
Wants to go to Mumbai, live with Sinha's in their two bedroom flat, but cant share the room with her sisters. Thinks Mumbai will solve all her problems...shows does not know the real life of Mumbai too. Going their without any plans. Trusts her friends despite their cold attitude...did not understand or doesn't want to.
Never tried to see her mum's pain and understand how she is coping all situations with the little money. even , yesterday, when Sneha came to talk to her in her room...she was just rude, her rudeness was acceptable in normal circumstances but knowing what her mum is going through was just an act of shamelessness.
Further, she shows her stupidity by packing her bags...coz Sneha only said that she will consider...but she ( the other two also) took it as their mum's consent. I think more or less we know...that once Sneha says no, Amaya will run away...
Most of us will say this is required to show her as a spoilt child...but I argue, agree it is required but should not be taken to the extremes making everything about the character artificial now and then showing us the drastic changes, thus making it superficial.

yeah...totally agree with you...

"Amaya Mathur hoon main"...i hate hearing that line from her.....as if she is some princess...oh godd common she is the main lead heroine of the show...and i dont think her character has made any good powerful impact till now...

I mean character of Sneha, Rachita and Jazz are lot more impressive than her...

Ok i agree she is been pampered alot since childhood...which is the result of her stubborn, crazy & angry nature...but disresppect??? She is disrespecting her mother sooo much...

Sneha considering abt their decision and asking plans...meant that they are going back to Mumbai??😲
Oh common...u want ur mother to accept ur stubborn wish...then atleast give her some concrete plan...dont know any thing about the hardships to go thru for earning and managing money...and dancing to go Mumbai...she needs a high dose of reality check...

She cant change suddenly but her character needs to mature up in small small things asap...

Amaya's attitude makes her come off as a spoilt child but she wanting to go to Mumbai or even Paris is not such a bad thing. Benaras is alien to her and hence her hesitation in permanently shifting here. I think for all three girls, Mumbai has been their hometown and with so much happening in their life it is understandable that they would be hesitant to completely plunge into the unknown; they would rather stay in a known city.

Of course, right now Benaras is a better option since they atleast have a house here. But instead of the Benaras vs Mumbai argument between the mother and daughters, they should think what would they would do for their future. Wherever they decide to stay, they cannot manage with whatever money they have on hand and would need to look for a means of earning a living. If the daughters really want to shift to Mumbai, they need to suggest how they will manage there and if Sneha thinks Benaras is the better option for their future, she needs to explain to her daughters what she plans to do in Benaras... they really need to have a mature discussion about this.

Very well written cherry.. Stephy and frenzy..
The main character has failed to make an impact so far..

But can see the girls pov of going back to Mumbai - as that was their life so far and also they are not aware of the Banaras connection yet..

With that said - I am still enjoying the show - lot better than the current ones out there - My pov..

I fully agree. I am not impressed with the lead girl.. First the acting is lil overacting.. secondly, all 3 girls are quite matured and and they are in their 20s.. How can they not understand what their mom is going thru..
By going to Mumbai, what are they going to do ? They will find jobs ? No one will give jobs instantly.. they are educated they should understand the situation and try and listen to their mom.. 😕..

Jazz is still in school, I think she is probably about 16 so I can understand where she is coming from, she is the youngest and always pampered not only by her parents but also her elder sisters.

Rachita does understand her mom and supports her, I feel she will be a big support for Sneha in the future...But at the moment she is not understanding the current situation... from the episode today we can see that she still misses Rohan, she has lost her dad and Rohan, she is suffering but does not show it to her mom easily compared to the other 2...what has made things worse is what people are saying about her father. Benaras is not like Mumbai, in Mumbai you will not bump into the same people everyday who will taunt you. Atleast she has been surfing the net to see if she can get a job in Mumbai, the other 2 girls are clueless as to what they will do once in Mumbai.

Coming to Amaya, I feel she is a bit immature only due to the fact that she was pampered alot by her dad, a lot more than the other 2. Out of the 3 girls she is the one who talks rudely with her mom. I guess as the show goes on she will be become a huge support for the family.

I really don't know what to say about the character of Amaya, I like her at times and dislike her.
I hate the fact that Amaya is given more importance as I feel Rachita and Jaz are brilliant characters and want to see more of them too, I want to see what these 2 can do for survival as well as Amaya, I don't want Amaya to be the only one sorting out the problems.

I totally agree with you. Couldn't connect to lead actress. on the other hand my heart goes out for Sneha...Gautami kappor rocks as sneha.👍🏼 You could feel the pain this character is going through.
How I wish it was the story of Sneha and not Amaya mathur. I am really interested to see how Sneha overcomes all her struggles

I care less about Amaya story or what is going to do. Not impressed with actress either. She actually ruins the screenspace. When Amaya is there on screen I feel disconnected to show. I have been fast forwarding her scenes lately just to see Gautami Kapoor. She is one fabulous actress.

Agree with you all. I also sometimes like Amaya and sometimes not, mainly because of her kiddish behavior. All she does is only talk and throw tantrums but nothing substantial. She is a graduate and could not speak anything on the stage when provoked by Uma. I thought she is going to handle the scene with her degree in disaster management but Jazz had to step in to save her.

We all have high expectations of the lead character and hence, this disappointment. I also feel Sneha is the main lead and her and her daughters struggle is going to be an interesting journey to watch. Hope they show equal significance to all the characters and not just Amaya in the future.

I actually like the actress playing Amaya, but hating the fact that the story revolves around her... Yeah it would have been nice if the story was about Sneha as this character is growing on me more and more as each day goes past.

I love watching Gautami, she is a fabulous actress. She portrays the character with so much perfection, be it as a wife, mother or daughter. I want the CV's to show more of her story and to give all 3 daughters importance and not just concentrate on Amaya.
