FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

I had no clue where to go. I was surrounded by a thousand earthlings, each one looking similar to me and still very different. My heart thudding louder, I really hope no one hears my deep breath. Looking around the hallway I stood rooted to the slippery polished floor, I couldn't recognise any faces nor voices. All seemed strange and felt a bit uncomfortable, I wasn't the one that kept silence. But today, the silence was evident. I couldn't just talk with some random people, what if they didn't like me?

The hall had suddenly dropped dead, no shoes were rustling and no sounds were heard from the thick clothing everyone had draped on themselves. Ignoring my thoughts, I listened carefully to the massive teacher in front of me. I was instructed to go to my class, which.... I had no clue where they were. I followed the crowd up to the second floor, I started from the right side, walking past all the rooms but Rm 218 was nowhere in sight. It was nearly impossible to walk; I more like shoved people to get through. After a few minutes I realised I was at the exact same place I had started......tik tiik tiiiikkk....then it ticked... the floor was a box, like a circle... GREAT! JUST GREAT! It couldn't get any better.

I looked through the doors, well not through the doors obviously, but at the plated numbers on them.... Room 202, 213... The numbers went in different orders on both sides of the hallway. So complicated, welcome to high school. Students stood there with heads touching the ceiling with pride, all formed in to small groups like little fishes. The place was loud, filled with sweat and cologne.

I walked over the tiled floor to room 218, I fixed my hair and looked down at the floor nervously. My first day in the school and I was late. A blonde haired lady with not a perfect figure but very cute face was talking to the glass. She took her index finger and pulled the rim of her glasses, eyeing me with the top of her eyes. She gave me a questioning look and I simply smiled.

She took her attendance book and looked up at me again, the book then at me again. Finally she gave a satisfying look and asked me " Taani?"
