Part 3 - Nupur has her own plans...
In Anurag's house, Kolkata, West Bengal (1pm)
Nupur flung the magazine on the floor as she marched to and fro, deeply in thought. It had been days since Anurag had expressed his love for Taani to her. 'Since when did that Taani become more important for him? How dare he dump me and take off to see her? He thinks I am a piece of rubbish, a toy, when you are done with it, dispose it. And that Taani, she had no status to even dream about Anurag and here Anurag had declared he would bring Taani back to Kolkata? As if Shekhar would allow Taani's entry in the house..' thought Nupur and snorted rudely as she secretly used to address Anurag's Dad by his name.
Picking up the photo frame, she glared at the smiling Anurag and Taani's picture and jabbed her finger at Taani's face. 'You can never take Anurag away from me, never! He was always mine, so what if he got drifted by your looks, one day he'll land up in my arms and if he doesn't.. it's my rightful duty to make him..' she evilly thought determined to not give up whether it was to separate Taani from Anurag or bringing Anurag closer to her..
Pulling out the picture from the photo frame, she gave a little smirk and then tore the picture Taani's half from Anurag's. Alighting a match, she held it close to the edge and watched it as it burned to ashes. 'Perfect! Taani stays where she belongs in the dustbin and Anurag appoints me in his own bedroom with his own will! I will make sure, that Taani and Anurag's love story doesn't take fruit and ends before it begins..'
Robindo stood rooted at the door of Nupur's room. It was true she was Anurag's ex girlfriend and ex would-be-wife but this was no way to burn someone's picture. By her looks, she seemed as if something evil was stirring up up there and it was his rightful duty to make sure, it doesn't bear fruit. 'This Nupur sure is more sexier than Anita and Farah but her existence is not for Da Da, it is for someone like me otherwise who pays a look to her than the playboy himself..' he grinned stepping out while rubbing his hands. 'Nupur darling, you have a surprise coming your way from your next future boyfriend, Robindo..'

"What does he think of himself? He will bring Taani in this house! Him, who few weeks back was not tolerating her suddenly wants to marry her! What's wrong with his skull? Is he even my son?" doubting Shekhar chucking his photo frame of him and Taani off the cabinet. "He wanted to marry Nupur, brought her here and then the next day, he changed his mood? I am sure some of his friends had something to do with this or.. Robindo!"
"Robindo! Robindo! Come here, you no good for nothing.." yelled Shekhar as Robindo rushed down the stairs to the main hall. He exasperatedly frowned at him to be disturbed while he was making an important break-up phone call.
"Papa? What's wrong? If you called me for one of your so called business lectures, then I can't listen, I am already doing -"
"Robindo, did you say something to Anurag about Taani?" screeched Shekhar, his voice kept high and angry as Robindo shook his head looking at him with a puppy dog face as to question "Why?" Shaking his head, he gestured him with his hand to go away in a way, he always did when he wanted someone to be dismissed. Grinning, Robindo rushed back up the stairs not turning back in case he remembered to torture him with the lectures..
While Shekhar was busy thinking who could be at fault for Anurag's disapproval of Nupur and sudden attachment with Taani. He ran his finger from his forehead, scratching it all the while Neelu approached him with a cup of tea.
"Your tea.." she smiled graciously placing the cup and saucer in front of him but he barely seemed to notice her lost deep in thought. 'What's wrong with him today? Why is he so lost in thought? Maybe because of Anurag's decision..'
"Your tea," she repeated looking at him as he looked up at her with baffled eyes and then picked up his tea and began sipping it rudely. "Is something wrong..?" she asked uncertainly as he nodded his head.
"I don't understand the reason for Anurag returning to Taani.." complained Shekhar, his hands turning into fists as he pouted at his picture shoving it out of his view. "Whatever happens, Taani will not enter this house and if Anurag brings her, he will leave too!"
"But listen.."
"No! I am determined to make things my way! At the inauguration of Bimal's shop, he made me come didn't he? He got things his way and this time, I will get things my way.." announced Shekhar stomping off leaving a sad Neelu as she thought 'Whatever happens, Shekhar. You can't separate Taani and Anu. They were separated 8 years but met. They will surely meet again this time, I have faith in God..'
The roundabout point of Mirik, West Bengal (2pm)
"Taposh Da.." said Taani standing while fiddling with the end of her stole. He looked up to see her, with the heavy bag hanging on her shoulder, her sandals plopped on and her books clenched tight to her chest.
He stormed up and glared at her repeating his harsh words. "Didn't I say? You weren't to leave the house alone! That Anurag won't leave a single chance to -"
"Taposh Da, please. I won't talk to him, I won't. Please stay here with Mauli, it's raining outside and as far as I know, Anu..he loves Nupur and he must've returned by now.." she said quickly as he handed her an umbrella.
"Taani, I am trusting you. If I find you lying to me or I catch you with him, I will break all ties with you. Understood?" he warned glaring at her and then turned around and screeched "Mauli..!"
'Thank god, Taposh Da allowed her to go. Taposh Da, I promise you, I won't talk to Anu. I won't.. I won't..' thought Taani stepping out and immediately opening her umbrella. She peered here and there to make sure, he wasn't around and then quickened her steps. 'The quicker I get to Jugnu and Naina's house, the less chance it will be that I will have to encounter him..'
Lost in deep thought, she didn't realise when she encountered a small rock, causing her to drop the umbrella, her books and fall down. But a pair of stiff hands came around her slender figure holding her and preventing her from touching the ground. She stared up high at his face, in his deep brown eyes who were asking for an apology but she looked away.
"Anu.. leave me.." she muttered and tried to stand up but he shook his head.
"No Taani. You can't stand up.."
"Why is that?"
"Because the ground is too slippery but if you want to.." he left her and in a second, she landed on the floor with a thud as he grinned and muttered "Don't heed me, got your punishment.." The rain was pouring down as if God was throwing pearls on them and before she knew, she was drenching wet. But he held up the umbrella on her head while gathering her books and lifting to her feet.
"Thanks.." she murmured taking her things and sidestepping him. "Anu.. I am sorry for Taposh Da's behaviour with you. But you must -" He came forward and placed a finger to her lips and muttered "I love you, Taani. Not Nupur.. get that clear to yourself.."
"Anu..what made you change your mind?" she asked quizzically as he turned away from her.
"Ma did. After being with Nupur, I realised who I was for. And here I am for that person but she seems to neglect me all the time.." he whispered hoping she would come with him.
"Anu, I have forgiven you. But it's too late. Don't do this to Nupur..she has a right over you -"
"Shut it, Taani. If you are here to tell me who to be with while I am drenching in the rain, then don't! I know where my destination is, I am only waiting for you to realise yours as well.." he retorted his body numb. Bringing the umbrella near him, she placed it on top of his head shielding him from the rain while revealing herself to it..
"If this is the kind of protection I get, then I don't want it.." he said pushing away the umbrella but she inched close to him, now the protection was equal over both of them. "That seems better, Taani. Where are you heading off to anyway?"
"Tuitions. I do it everyday and then at evening, I go to teach children singing.." she said her voice trembling as eyes brimmed when Neelu Ma used to teach her. But he recognized the overwhelm of her tears and wiped those which fell.
"I told you so many times, tears are not for your eyes.." he said smiling pleased and she returned his smile, her arm locking with his as they both got lost in the warmth of each other. Pointing to the man who was selling Kulfis, he muttered "Want to eat?" And she meekly nodded as he grinned and ordered for Kulfis. As Taani began eating, she stared at Anu who had a handful of them and was licking them graciously. A smile lingered across her beautiful lips and she stared at him with immense love.
"TAANI!" roared the sound from behind them, making her drop her books and Kulfi. They swung round to find Taposh, her eyes widened in shock...
