It's taken for granted that hindi tv serial mein villain hona hi chaahiye. The bitchy cousin/sister-in-law, maami, husband's ex-girlfriend, blah blah blah. Toh CV's, who are confused in life, suddenly realised that apart from subodh, there was really no clear justification as to why they showed Taani returning a ring to Onu, and that strange girl standing next to him. So unhone decide kiya ki kyon na Ananya ke pati ko villain bana de?
But in the process of making him a villain, they forgot the thin line between evil and just plain cheap. Ritesh is just plain cheap. They should have simply shown that he created a daraar between Bimalendu and Shekhar to usurp the jaidaad. But what was the need to show such gruesome outbursts? Ananya talking rudely to elder people, that also those who have played a vital role in raising her. Laboni slapping her. Ananya's sudden pregnancy. Hers refusing to accept Laboni's apology(WTF? If i behaved like that with my mother's friends, and that also someone who's like a maasi to me, I would get one tight slap). and the fall down the stairs. Ritesh squeaking 'Laboni did it!' like a five year old child doing chugligiri to the kindergarten teacher.
Then all the other things-that galli, that aggressive man, 'Ashutosh', his smirking speech to Bimalendu, that pregnant girl, all those call girls-what the hell? I mean okay fine, he was greedy for money, but what was the need to make his character like that? Just to create a situation for Bimalendu to expose him? They could have just shown Bimalendu seeing him with another girl. I mean fine, a daraar had to be created between the families but not to the extent that they would all forget what it is to be a civilised person.
