Chapter 3

The sudden knock on the door disrupted Twinkle's thoughts bringing her back to the present. Wiping her face with her shaky hands, she went to open the door.

There stood her brother smiling but that's not what Twinkle had her eyes on,her eyes were on the cutest member of the family, her Breezer.

Mr. Breezer, her favorite member of the family and probably the oldest too. He was never considered a dog but one of their own in the family.

Excitedly Twinkle took him in her arms and hugged and cuddled him tight.

Since the time she was back home,she felt something incomplete but she knew why.

She wanted to spend some time with her baby'.

Taking breezer in her arms and walking back to her bed ,she completely forgot about his frowning brother at the door.

After realizing her mistake,she called him in.

While Twinkle played with Mr.breezer,Nihaal sat beside her admiring her.

It had been long since he said head her laughter.Her laughter which was at one point the best sound for him in the world.He couldn't remember when was the last time she had actually laughed genuinely and he doubted if she remembered too.

"I missed you",began Nihaal with a hint of sadness in his voice.

"I missed you too",stated Twinkle honestly.

She loved her brother more than anything in this world.She missed how her brother pampered her and protected her.How she wished he could have protected her from the cruelty she faced in the past.

"So how's America",asked Nihaal

"Its great,I've settled in but of course there are days when I miss home and India.Waise bhi no matter where you go,you will at some point miss your home"

"So why don't you come back home?" Asked Nihaal with a hint of hope.

He wanted his baby sister back home.

"You know that's not possible",stated Twinkle

"Of course it is! Have you ever thought about coming back and start something here.I could help you in setting something up here"

"I don't really know what to say but I will think about it,I promise"

"Okay",said a defeated Nihaal

He knew there was no point in arguing with her anymore.

"Yo what's up man",asked Rishi,one of Kunj's close friends sitting beside him in the class.

Kunj had purposely chosen a place where he could he see Twinkle clearly.He was sitting diagonally opposite to her where he saw her chatting and smiling with her bestfriend Chinki.

"Where's your Miss.Riya?", asked Aarav another friend of Kunj's who chose to sit behind them.

"First of all,she's not mine in any way and secondly since when have you started taking so much interest in math",asked Kunj curiously

Before Aarav could answer Miss Riya had made her way in the class

Taking a look around the class,slightly longer at Kunj,she sat down.

"So before I start today's class I have been told that we have a new entry in our campus",said Miss Riya to the uninterested class.

"Hey!", heard Kunj as he saw his bestfriend maya taking a seat beside Aarav

Maya and Kunj had been friends since they were 5 years old.Their families were good friends and so they had grown up together.

"So why don't you get up and introduce yourself to the class",suggested Miss Riya while looking at Twinkle.

She didn't like how Twinkle looked.She wasn't supposed to be so pretty.In fact no one was supposed to be prettier than her,thought Miss Riya.

Squeezing her best friends hand,she slowly got up and took a look around the class.

She looked around to see some of the faces staring at her weirdly, some winking at her,some smiling at her genuinely and some who didn't like the entry of her realizing how pretty she looked.

While looking around,she met Kunj' s eyes who gave her a slight smile indicating her to stay calm.

Twinkle didn't know why but she suddenly felt comfortable in Kunj's gaze.She felt warm and even more confident when she saw Kunj nodding at her.

"Well hi,I'm Twinkle Taneja and I'm an exchange student. Previously I had been studying in London before my father got transferred back to Amritsar,said Twinkle with a smile her face.

Her voice is just as beautiful as her,thought Kunj

Maya had seen Kunj looking at Twinkle with a slight blush on his face.

What's going on,I need to talk to Kunj,thought maya

"You're hot,do you date?, Echoed a voice from behind making the whole class giggle.

Kunj didn't like the way how Twinkle was asked this question since he saw the discomfort on her face.

Taking a deep breath,Twinkle turned around to where the voice came from

"Wait in the line",said she rolling her eyes

As soon as she said this,the class became silent.

Kunj was dumbfounded.

He had not imagined Twinkle to be able to reply to that comment.He was surprised as well as very happy to see Twinkle stand up for herself.

It gave him a proud feeling seeing the guy who had just made such a nasty comment bow his hand in embarrassment.

"Welcome to the campus Twinkle"said Miss Riya ignoring what had happened just a few minutes ago.

Twinkle murmured a "thank you" before she sat down looking at Chinki who gave her a reassuring nod.

Exactly after 1 hour,the bell rang indicating the class was over.

Kunj looked at Twinkle who was busy putting all the books back in her bag.

Quickly stuffing his books in the bag,Kunj started walking towards Twinkle with an intention of talking to her.

Before he could go any nearer to her,he was stopped by Maya who took his arm and dragged him out of the room

"What is it Maya,can't you see I'm busy",said Kunj while looking at Twinkle fearing she would leave.

"I need to talk to you about something important",stated Maya who noticed Kunj constantly looking at Twinkle

"Well can't the important thing wait",asked Kunj

"I'm afraid it can't",said Maya and with that she dragged him towards the cafeteria.

"What is it?", asked Kunj in a rather rude tone.

"No you tell me what was that?"asked Maya.

"What was what"?,asked Kunj is a confused tone

"You very well know what I'm talking about Mr Kunj Sarna,don't try to play games with me",said Maya glaring at him.

"I seriously have no idea what you're talking about,you mind shedding some light on what's bothering you?"asked Kunj

"Why were you staring at that new girl Twinkle",asked Maya directly without wasting any more time.

At that moment,Kunj's face dropped

He had never imagined that Maya would catch him so easily.

Was it that evident from his face?

"Um I have no idea what you're talking about",said Kunj trying to look as genuine as possible.

"Oh please,you can't possibly fool me,I saw how you were constantly looking at her the whole time during our class.Now will you tell me what's going on in your mind before I tell all this to your mother", threatened Maya

"What? No please don't", said Kunj immediately

As soon as he heard the word mother' and knowing his mom so well,he knew things would have gotten out of his hands.

"Fine I'll tell you later because I need to go to the library right now",said Kunj while Maya smirked.

"See you in the cafeteria best friend",said Maya while Kunj rolled his eyes before walking out.

She isn't going to drop this matter so easily,is she?
