It just makes me sad because I know quite a few couple who desperately wants a baby but unable to conceive. It makes you question so many things.

One of my cousins actually going through that, she had a miscarriage twice. It's really sad. Desi people have their reservations about adopting too, they finally convinced everyone that adoption is their only options but there are so many formalities attached with the process

my high school was pretty good in regards to providing contraceptives through guidance counselors but health teacher was a total nutcase. He was against abortion and women using contraceptives.

Desi people are the worst in adoptions. At best they adopt a child from family and that's so unfair because they force the other parents to give in to their demands

I think most high school guidance counselors have it. Honestly in today's day & age if you can't stop them, at least you can provide them with safety measures.

If you're a teenager contemplating on having sex, you're not going to go to an adult and ask for contraceptives. That's the problem.

it's so sad desi ppl really do look down on adoption, it's really sad to see that!
and adoption itself is such a lengthy and hard process, it takes years before a couple can even be allowed to adopt

Oh yes! It's unfair to the child too because in most cases they know they're adopted and their existence is just torn between the two families.

Yeah and my cousin's family only agreed to let her adopt if she adopts a child from Pakistan so the process is even lengthier for her!

i agree with you Raina. My dad's brother gave his one daughter away to his wife's sister and that girl grew up so torn between both the families and never bonded with her siblings properly.

The thing of adopting from Pakistan only is so unfair. Every child needs loving parents. Geographic location doesn't determine futures.
